We stayed in the cottage this time and everything was fantastic, clean and well stocked. The property manager was very accessible and kind. The property is peaceful and private and beautifully wooded. Highly recommend!!! It works out to be the same or less than a hotel but infinitely better!!

This property was just what we needed to escape our busy lives and relax with our pups. They loved having the fenced in yard to run around and we saw deer right outside the porch several times.

My husband, dog, and I had a wonderful time staying at The Cottage for a long weekend away! It was just the quiet, peaceful stay we needed while still being just a 10 minute drive to historic downtown Bastrop for live music and dinner. Our dog loved running around the closed in fence with us and had fun exploring the little paths on the property. Highly recommend!

The property was in a very private setting, approximately 8 miles from the Bastrop CBD. The cottage was clean and cozy - the air conditioning worked phenomenally! Every amenity was thought of by the owners and the fenced in yard made it super easy for my dogs to come and go.

What A Cute Place

We spent our 21st wedding anniversary here and we ABSOLUTELY LOVED IT!!!! From the great porches and outdoor spaces to the open floor plan of the house and how welcoming it was…IT WAS JUST PERFECT!!! Oh! And did I mention how dog friendly it was???? The hosts even had extraDog bowls, toys and poop bags for our furbabies!! We will 100% come back and highly recommend this place! Such a wonderful experience!!!!

Great place to relax near Bastrop

Two of my friends and I ran back to back races at Bastrop State Park. The Cottage was the perfect place to relax between races. Surrounded by nature, we enjoyed the full amenities. Thanks for a great weekend!

Perfect for dogs and humans

This cottage is perfect! We have two rescue dogs who never get to go anywhere fun because of their anxiety. We were finally able to vacation with our dogs! The fenced yard was a blessing, as were the trails around the property that were easy enough for our elderly dog. They had a blast!The cottage was exceptionally clean. I was worried there would be evidence of other visiting dogs, but there was not any fur, dog prints, fleas, smells, etc. The dishes, appliances, and linens were clean as well.We had complete privacy. We saw another car pass by on the gravel road once or twice, but it was not intrusive. Thank you, Jim, for offering a lovely opportunity for our dogs to experience their first vacation!

This house and the beautiful surrounding was perfect.

Our time at this house was such a blessing. The surrounding area at the house is beautiful, and we loved the trails.We heard lots of different birds. The house was very clean and everything we neededwas provided.

Mother and Daughter weekend

We were in town for a dance competition. This was our second time to stay at this property and we absolutely love it. Perfect size for a small family or girl friends. We lived the porches and outdoor space. Will definitely stay hear again!

Peace and quiet

We felt secluded from town and people, just what we wanted. The gravel road entrance added to the 'country charm.' Sweet, comfortable and clean accomodations. Loved everthing about it!

Great Cottage & Outdoor Space, Friendly Host

The house was comfortable and we appreciated all the little touches - the water in the fridge, the extra pillows and blankets, the washer/dryer, the entertainment (movies, games, etc.) that made it feel like we were staying in a home vs a hotel. We enjoyed our stay. The beds were a bit firm for us, but everything else was very nice.

Cabin in the woods

We had a great time at our "cabin in the woods"! It was wonderful to bring our pup along on our adventure. We all enjoyed the stay and being so close to two state parks for hiking was a treat!

Super Comfy and Dog Friendly!

Absolutely loved our stay! One of our favorites so far! Very dog friendly. Our girls loved walking the trails and playing back at the cabin in the fenced in area. Felt completely safe letting them off leash to play. The Cabin is super cute and well stocked with some basics for humans and fur babies! Thank you so much for your hospitality!
