You are ideally situated for your trip to Hana or Haleakala Crater, saving you about 2 hours of driving time compared to Kihei or Kaanapali.
Hookipa Beach has surfing, windsurfing, and swimming with turtles, only a few minutes away.
Paia Bay, Baldwin Beach, and Baby Beach are all within minutes and excellent locations to swim, surf and hang out with the locals.
