Book with caution…

There’s good and bad things to this stay. We’ll start with the bad. There is an active rodent issue around the outdoor space. We found what appear to be rat holes in the garden by the field & plenty of droppings on the steps by the house, on the paths, around the pool area & on the sun loungers. Reported this to the owners who dismissed it. Anthony the owner even kicked the dropping away & then decided to walk around the pool area which was lovely of him to do….I saw something dark in colour & of a reasonable size scurry from the hedge past the pool pump house so definitely an active problem.A main reason for booking this property was the pool, however our use was restricted. Anthony comes on a Mon, Wed & Fri to clean the pool. Now I appreciate a pool being cleaned and topped up, but when Anthony just arrives unannounced around 10.30am & stays 30-60 mins cleaning, then puts in the hose with cold water & disappears only to return early afternoon to remove it, kind of reduces the use of the pool. Not to forget the pool temp drops a good bit. The pool water was also very green for the first few days, but did become a bit clearer later in the week. If you are bringing a dog, then the garden isn’t secure. There is a gap in the hedge straight in to the fields which have sheep. Although the inside of the property was clean to a good standard, the blinds in the bedrooms have mould on them. The two double beds are not comfortable to sleep in and rooms are very warm.

Something for everyone

Weather was not exactly the best, but the property and location, more than made up for it. St Merryn is a lovely little town, excellent dog walking and Harlyn beach just down the road. The pool was most certainly, the cherry on the cake.

The bungalow was lovely and spotless. It had every thing you need. The back garden was beautiful and the pool was amazing. Such a bonus! We spent many hours in it. Can’t wait to stay again.

Marvellous Trebiza

Fabulous stay- quiet,peaceful and wanted for nothing. Easy access to beaches and Newquay and Padstow. Comfy bed plenty of hot water and heating. Helpful hosts -would love to return.

Lovely, well kept property in great location.

The house was spacious and very clean with all the facilities you would need including the added benefit of the heated pool which the kids really loved. The gardens and pool area are really nice to relax of an evening. The house is located near the beaches although probably too far to walk just because of the narrow roads and close to local shops including the always amazing bakery. Would definitely stay again.

Great family stay

We had a great stay. Perfect location. We usually stay around the area but not in St Merryn specifically. The gardens are well kept, pool a perfect temperature and the house well furnished/equipped. We were a family of 3 generations and the property served us well. Would thoroughly recommend!

Pleasant

Very pleasant stay overall . Outside pools do need regular maintenance and the intervals do vary depending on usage and the weather . So a mid week inspection was not a big surprise. What was , was the owner entering the property without announcing his arrival or knocking on the door. The first we knew was seeing him marching across the garden. I find this very poor practice and felt it was an invasion of our privacy .

Great pool, superb location

Really great location in the seven bays area, only about 10mins to most beaches and Padstow. Property is the cleaned we’ve ever stayed in, so while decor is a bit dated we really didn’t notice it. Smart TV was a nice bonus. Pool is excellent, very private. St Merryn has everything you need including a great Pizza restaurant, Rick Stein pub and crab shack.

Peace, beaches and sunshine

Fantastic experience from booking to holiday itself. Lovely property, fabulous gardens and superb pool. Our teenage sons loved swimming everyday, good location for beaches, good food and excellent pubs. Perfect.

Lovely Bungalow with Pool

Very well equipped bungalow, comfortable stay, the main draw for us was the private heated pool. We have stayed here before and were pleased to see the TV has been replaced with a modern flat screen. Overall very nice place with everything you need, if I'm being picky I would say that a handrail for the steps into the garden would be helpful as they are very steep.

Great Holiday

This was a great holiday rental in an excellent location close to Padstow and some of Cornwalls beautiful bays . The property was very spacious and well equipped, but for our granddaughter the highlight of the holiday was the swimming pool at the rental which was heated and gave us all lots of enjoyment. The gardens are well maintained and spacious and the area where the pool is was certainly a sun trap . I would have no hesitation in recommending this rental to anyone . The rental is situated in the village of St Merryn which has a village store , Chinese takeaway, a fish & chip shop and a fantastic bakery , whose bread & cakes are second to none . All in all we had a great holiday .
