Had a wonderful stay! Hosts had a fully stocked kitchen, thoughtful extras like coffee, and the reminder of the house was great too. We all enjoyed the amenities like the hot tub and arcade. Highly recommend this rental.

Family Ski Weekend

The house fit our family of six perfectly. It was spotless when we arrived and everything worked great, especially the hot tub. Our kids loved the game area too. The sheets were incredible and all the rooms were very comfortable. The hosts were very helpful, and check-in/check-out was seamless.

Great house for families!

This was the perfect house to stay at while exploring Mount Rainier! With a hot tub, gas fire pit, and game room there was something for everyone to enjoy. Would definitely recommend staying here if you’re visiting Packwood.

Beautiful property, close to Ranier National Park for hiking. Finish the day with a soak in the hot tub, and visiting around the fire pit. Had a wonderful time, just not a long enough stay

Ski get a way

The Shawnee Chalet was great for our family ski weekend. The kids enjoyed the games and the rooms were cozy, the check-in and out process was well communicated, easy and convenient.

The house is so nice. Very clean. Found a Personal welcome note from our host! We had a couple questions regarding the TV system and they were answered immediately. Our host offered to come back to town to help!! Between us we figured it out. But the fact they were so willing to help is great. Not your everyday vrbo service. We saw Elk in the yard! Cozy lovely stay. We will be back!

Awesome cozy rental located near the Steven’s Canyon entrance at Mt. Rainier national park. After long hikes we enjoyed relaxing in the nice hot tub and using gas fire pit on site! Our group of 5 fit comfortably here. Close to Packwood with a good brewery/ pub, market, and gas station. The Host Laura was very communicative and made the whole check in process simple.

This place will forever be etched in our memories as our beautiful daughter emerged in her wedding dress from the front door on our way to Mt. Rainier for her ceremony.all bridesmaids used this Chalet to get dolled up and it was perfect. The host was so easy to communicate with and made it a perfect weekend. we will be back!

Wonder in the Woods

First thing I would say is Laura is the best host we have ever had. Quick to respond, went out of her way to help us! Shawnee Chalet was great location to Mt Rainier, the house so clean and new with all modern conveniences you could ask for. A huge porch with a hot tub. We would definitely stay here again. This is a 10 stars out of 5 stars.

Our family had a wonderful time on our Smokey Mountains vacation! We saw bears, waterfalls, and stunning scenery. We also went ziplining and white water rafting, which was so much fun!Joel & Claire's house made everything so easy, comfortable, and relaxing. The game and theater rooms were so fun and a big hit with our adult kids!Everything was very clean and ready tongo when we arrivedOur family loved that our vacation home was really like a home away from home. Lovely stay, albeit too short!

The property was exactly as described, clean, well stocked and the layout of the space was exceptional. It's located to give great access to the area's attractions while not in the hub of bustle. We enjoyed the hot tub and outdoor gas fire pit. While we did not cook (we usually do), the kitchen was outfitted with a great assortment of essentials and extras. Laura was an organized host who was easy to communicate with and provided clear information about the property and area. Highly recommend!

Perfect Home for Family Time & Adventure

We had such a wonderful stay at this chalet getaway! From start to finish, it was the perfect mix of relaxation and fun. The covered hot tub was a highlight—we used it both nights, and it’s perfect no matter the season. The fire pit was another favorite spot to gather, enjoy a drink, and put our feet up, and the glass enclosure made it feel safe and family-friendly. The spacious deck was beautiful for meals and evenings outdoors, with plenty of room to relax and enjoy the surroundings. Inside, the bedding was so cozy and comfortable—a detail that really stood out. There’s no shortage of entertainment with a great selection of board games, cornhole, foosball, and even a Pac-Man machine. The kitchen was also nicely stocked, making it easy to cook and enjoy meals together. To top it all off, it’s dog-friendly and close to amazing outdoor adventures, which made it even better. Between the comfort, amenities, and location, this chalet is a true gem—we can’t wait to come back!

Fantastic stay in a beautiful setting

We moved to AK 3 years ago after 2 decades in WA State. Our last visit to Packwood was in 2009. We weren't sure if it would be as lovely as we remembered it, but the area did not disappoint! I almost hate to share the loveliness of this location out of a selfish wish to keep it under wraps.Our hosts at this rental were prompt and communicative. They went the extra mile to ensure that this vacation rental felt like home. From indoor and outdoor games (arcade table, Cornhole, board games) to a towel and toy supply station for our friend's dog, every "want" was addressed in advance. The new deck, fire pit, and gazebo over the hot tub made our outdoor time so much more fun as we lucked out and had sunny heat for most of our visit. Our party of 6 1 dog was so comfortable and we hated to leave. I am a light sleeper yet slept better in this rental than I do at home; we all commented on how comfortable the beds are. There are many outdoor activities around Packwood; though we knew Memorial Day weekend meant a crowded thrift sale in town, we had no issues finding parking to explore local swimming holes and hikes.
