"The house was comfortable and warm, with lovely views and perfectly good facilities (4g signal is good so didn't miss wifi). It was nice to come back to during those days when the weather was wild. Everything I needed in a place to stay. Not too far from Castlebay so easy to get food and fuel. Will definitely stay there again if available next time I am on Barra. Barra itself was fantastic and a very friendly place, with some stunning coastline to explore from the sea when the weather allowed!"

"We loved our stay here on Lewis. The house had everything you could need, the coziest kitchen, books and toys for the kids, beach towels, beach things, and the best part, the owners are so lovely and provided so much info on the area and their family history which made it really special. The house is in a beautiful spot and near to a very well stocked community supermarket. "

"We loved Macaulay cottage - it’s in a great location for visiting the many wonderful beaches and bays on Harris. The cottage has everything you need and the owners are really helpful. It was a great place to return to after a day out. Some of the well known walks (Scholars path and coffin trail) start from the cottage or nearby. We enjoyed kayaking with seals in the the bay by the cottage. "

"We didn’t know what to expect. It was quite remote but the scenery was amazing! Nestled in Uig bay , with a community shop and cafe only minutes away in the car. It took a while getting used to no internet but we could contact with family using the community cafe WiFi! We visited places like the Blackhouse village museum, Callanish alpacas ( worth a visit- a rescue centre Croft for wild and domesticated animals with a cafe serving great cakes! We saw the callanish stones and managed to reach...
