The location was good. The house, however, was filthy when we arrived. I think we may have been the first rental of the season but there is no excuse for the state of the property. Fireplace full of ashes, huge spider webs all over the place, dusty, grill completely dirty, and washer didn't work. It took multiple calls and emails to Nina to get the house cleaned. All she kept saying was the house is great, I was just there, and it is clean. The cleaning people whom she got to come over after 3 days were appalled and told Nina so. They were not her normal cleaning crew.
The kitchen had just been renovated and I believe Nina felt the last cleaning from the end of the season plus a contractor's cleanup of the kitchen was good enough. It wasn't.
The number of calls and emails it took, which included multiple pictures, to get the house the way it should have been when we arrived was ridiculous. The oddest thing was that after days of asking her to just get the house cleaned she offered to move us to a different house in a different town. Her response was surreal.
I also had requested linens. That was an equally odd experience. One bed was made, the others weren't. Given how filthy the house was I did not want to take a chance that the linens were dirty and just left behind by a prior guest. That there two old tee shirts left in the bedroom drawers added to my concern.
I would never rent from her again. It was a miserable experience.
