Pool and Spa - we paid for heating, but neither the pool nor the spa were heated for our entire vacation. When we arrived, the water level in the pool was too low (it was below the skimmer ... we filled it with a garden hose). The valves were set improperly. The spa emptied completely or partially every night.
Dishwasher - it was inoperative when we checked-in. A maintenance tech did a temporary fix, but told us we would need to stay in the house while the dishwasher was running to make sure it didn't leak . He told us he'd be back the following work day to do the proper repair (replace a part); he never returned.
Hot Water at kitchen sink. It was not working when we checked in. The maintenance tech got it to work.
Fire Alarms - multiple incidents of chirping (batteries out of power) during the evening waking us up. The first incident was during our first night stay. The fix was to replace the battery in one alarm. The next day, the same thing occurred with another fire alarm.
BBQ Grill - included in the rental but the gas ran out on our second use. When I called the property manager, they told me I could pick up a propane tank at a local 7-Eleven.
Garbage - the instructions for garbage were incorrect. There was no bin to put garbage bags. I called the property manager, no answer. They texted me the following: "The HOA removed the bins because they are changing trash companies. They said in the meantime you can place the bagged trash outside of the front door and they will pick it up daily" Problem was they didn't pick up trash daily ... the full garbage bags sat outside the front door in the Florida sun for days. There are gross stains on the front door step due to garbage sitting there for days. It's unsightly and it smells.
Property Management - Very Poor. I should have known: I tried to make a reservation on De Paula Vacation's website, but it didn't work. I tried calling them, no answer. During our vacation, we had a lot of maintenance issues. I called their Emergency Number, but they didn't answer. Instead, they have an automatic text response: Thank you for your call. We cannot answer right now. Please respond here and let us know how we can assist you. - De Paula Vacations" I called and texted every day of our vacation. Response time and attentiveness were poor. Maintenance techs were not skilled; the pool tech didn't know how to repair the pool. The Management company stopped communicating with us.
