Would recommend. We 4 ladies of a certain age had a great late-winter getaway. This rental was perfect for us as we each had our own room, and shared only two to a bath. Our host was easy and quick with communication, which is always so handy. This location is rural, close to but not on the big lake, yet very close to Sheboygan for great restaurants, etc. None of us are great with arcade games. But we were very funny playing ping-pong! We visited the John Michael Kohler Art Center and the associated Art Preserve. We had a great hike at Kohler-Andre SP. After going out one night we shared a memorable walk down to the water for a starry-night beach experience, including selfies!We especially appreciated the flexibilty with our check out day as Blizzard Elsa bearing down on us. It was a near thing that we'd need to stay another night.We're already talking about what we might do the next time we stay here!

great communication with the owner--top notch towels and linens and very thoughtful kitchen supplies such as food storage containers for left overs and to-go coffee cups. the view toward the lake through the woods was so calming. our crew ended up being smaller than expected but so much room to spread out and play--really neat lay out to whole house and of course the basement arcade and ping pong table are great.

Location, view of Lake Michigan and the beautiful house. This is definitely one of the top houses I have stayed at. Plenty of supplies, towels, etc. Loved the layout and the games available for kids (young and old0. I would definitely stay here again. p.s. our host was always quick with responses and helpful.

We are so glad we ended up choosing to stay at The Sandwood Cottage. It was a wonderful experience, the house was super clean and had everything we could have possibly ever needed. The game room was amazing, the sandy beach was great and the home felt so welcoming. The communication with the hosts was flawless and so punctual, I would definitely come again!

Place was great. Smells of pine when you walk to the beach. The Ping Pong table saw some matches for the ages. And Kwik Trip might be the best gas station ever. Close to the house btw.

Amazing stay!

Such a wonderful trip!! We had two families staying, including 5 kids under the age of 9. Perfect for families, large house and the kids room is awesome!! The arcade is also super fun. Being so close to the beach was absolutely wonderful. Great communication with the host. We would definitely come back!!

Great stay by the lake

My husband and I, along with her daughter and some friends, stayed at this beautiful cottage by the lake while we were in the area for a soccer tournament. It is absolutely incredible. The kids had a fantastic time in the game room, as well as in their own little sanctuary upstairs. We all enjoyed walking down to the lake. Even though Lake Michigan is very cold this time of year, the girls still managed to have a splash fest and get soaked! Thank you so much for sharing your beautiful home with us!

Great spot for guys weekend

Our annual canoe trip got rained out so we were so happy to find this spot! Hiked Kohler Andrae before checking in and had a great time playing ping pong and arcade games after the rain hit. Everything was great!

Amazing family vacation

We met our extended family here for a long weekend stay on the beach in August. We had a range of kiddos at the VRBO from 3 years to 13. They all loved staying here, playing arcade and ping pong and hanging out with their cousins. Everyone was sad to leave the beach and this amazing home. Thanks for great amenities and an awesome layout for everyone to have fun.

Great place for a family gathering with young children and grandparents

The property is nicely furnished, with and excellent kitchen. A short walk to a beautiful sandy beach, we had it to ourselves most of the time. Great for children and adults of all ages. The video arcade in the basement was a tremendous hit with the cousins all between 6 and 9! Plenty of beach toys, chairs, towels and a wagon. The fire pit was fun for evening s’mores too. Highly recommend this rental. The only slight drawback is the aroma from the septic tank that wafts across the front porch periodically as you sit there. But it wasn’t bad enough to stop us from coming back another year!

Blissfully relaxing

This property held our family comfortably with beds and bedrooms just the right size for each member. We went from king size to singles, and everyone had restful nights. During the days we could walk easily the 400 feet to the beach. The kitchen had everything we needed, there were bathrooms aplenty, and a game room downstairs gave space to those who wanted to be away from others. We had the perfect visit to your area of Wisconsin.

The owners were gracious and great hosts. They checked in daily on how the stay was going and also asked if we needed recommendations or suggestions on things to do in the area. They also were good to about having a nice and clean environment at the house as everything was so perfect. 10/10 recommend to anyone visiting the area!

Well- cared for and updated house. Be aware of strict neighborhood rules

Several adult couples in our mid-30s stayed for Labor Day weekend. It looks to be renovated and has all the finishing touches you might expect with that - well stocked kitchen, high thread count sheets, large bathrooms. The house was immaculately clean, and check-in was easy. The property managers communicate frequently, clearly and extremely promptly. The Beach is a very short 500 ft down the road. Technically, you are only allowed to be in the public access area, however we found it have Plenty of room for activities and relaxing. You also can walk down the beach as long as you were in the shoreline. One thing to be aware of is that the neighborhood does have tight restrictions when it comes to noise. Specifically being loud outside is prohibited after 10 PM. Be aware that the owner does have a noise detection device (he is upfront about this in the description), and though we were not outside after 10 PM at any point, he did personally drop by to advise we were too loud with the windows open. We closed them after this, and it was not an issue. FWIW never had a prob with any neighbors, and everyone was extremely friendly. I can only assume there must’ve been an issue in the past. So, if you want late night bonfire talks until midnight this is NOT for you. You also may or may not appreciate the definite physical presence of the managers in the area. But overall - really nice and well cared for property. Just be aware it has rules and they are enforced.

Wonderful place so close to the beach

We stayed here for an family getaway with grandparents, adult children, and grandchildren. The home fit the 10 of us perfectly and had many really well thought out design and functional elements. The home is decorated beautifully. Our children loved the kids room which provided 4 beds, a place to hang, play games, and watch movies. The beach is a very short walk away and is absolutely beautiful. Jeremy and team were very responsive and communicative the whole way through. The arcade in the basement is really fun and will bring any parents of young children back to their childhood, like it did for us. Would definitely recommend to anyone looking for a family getaway right near the beach!

Loved It!

Great property beautifully decorated and generously stocked and a responsive owner. Wooded like setting provided daily visits by deer but literally steps from a like private beach. Rain nor smoke from the Canadian wildfires no problem with an Arcade Room to entertain both adults and kids. Also many area attractions a short drive away. All 9 of us rate this one a ten.

This was a beautiful property within a short work of a sandy beach at Lake Michigan. The home itself accommodated our group of 10 (8 adults, 2 teenagers) comfortably. The kitchen was well-stocked, with lots of thoughtful touches, ex wood for the outdoor fire pit, coffee, beach wagon, and beach chairs/towels. There were lots of games and activities, and our group enjoyed the arcade games in the basement. The public beach at the end of the road is small, but we were usually one of just a few groups, so we never had space issues. Host was communicative and responsive.

Stylish and Fun House Near the Beach

We were completely impressed by our stay at this property, which looked and felt completely new. The house is definitely spacious enough for at least two families with kids. Although we were just one family, we enjoyed spreading out! The large bonus TV/Kid room was really fun and cute. The arcade was a blast from the past. The kitchen well stocked. We went to the beach almost every day and very much appreciated the chairs, sand toys, towels and wagon to make the short journey easier. Hosts were excellent. Their recommendations for restaurants were spot on and responded lightening fast when we had any questions. Definitely would stay again.
