Peaceful retreat

The house was a perfect getaway. It's a super quiet and peaceful area. My favorite part was having my coffee on the beach every morning. The house itself is a little outdated but everything is fully functional. There's enough space for everyone to stay comfortably and not be on top of each other. We were able to be secluded in a bedroom if needed and all hangout together in the livong spaces when we wanted to. I especially loved the locking gate on the deck stairs so we could hangout on the deck with my 10 month old and she could safely crawl around and play while the adults chatted. The beach is perfect for swimming or wading, nice and calm and shallow, although it was too cold to swim while we were there. I'm glad we stayed when it was a little cooler, as the people upstairs said it did get hot without any air conditioning but we were able to get a nice breeze by opening all of the windows. I would recommend this location and we will be likely staying again.

Beautiful Location

This rental is in a great location, on the beach which provides the ability to catch the sunrise from the deck. Northport, Sutton's Bay, Glen Arbor, Sleeping Bear Dunes, Leland (Fish Town) , the entire Leelanau Peninsula were within close proximity. The house provided everything that we needed to make our stay comfortable. The beds were comfortable, the linen was nice, the towels were plentiful. My only suggestions are a new remote contol for the tv, a new tash can for the kitchen (the current one has a bad odor despite cleaning) and a new couch for the living room. Overall, the rental was very nice and I would highly recommend. TTownTown)

This one is all about the beach!

The house is situated north of most of the tourist chaos and is tucked away in a stretch of woods off Rt. 22. There is no internet which I didn’t miss but the younger crowd had to make due using cell phones as hot spots. There is no AC which only affected us a day or two when temps got close to 90°. However. This place is all about the beach and the beach is fabulous! We spent most of our time down by the water! The front deck is large and one evening we had about 20 family members over for a cookout and everyone had a place to sit and eat. We loved our stay and the week went by much too fast!!

I really dislike writing reviews especially negative ones...

The property was NOT clean when we entered. The outside door knob to the downstairs bedroom came off in my hand when I opened the door. The water pressure is VERY weak, and the water from the tap is unusable other than for washing hands or dishes. We had to buy multiple gallons of drinking water for cooking and drinking. The stairs leading down to the basement are dangerous. The balcony attached to one of the upstairs bedrooms was covered in lichen/moss, sticks, cobwebs & spider webs. Even the 2 lawn chairs out there had lichen growing on them. The rest of the decking on the lower level was dirty too. The power flickered quite often, and went out once for a couple hours. The power outage caused all our food in the freezer to melt. The trash was never picked up. We were diligent about following the very explicit and almost demeaning instructions. One of the upstairs bedrooms was very musty, and needed through cleaning. The bathtub had what appeared to be a ring of mold around the tub that our kids had to bathe in, and there were cobwebs in it as well. The Pots, pans, plates, glasses, silverware and utensils, and general decor of the place looked as if they were purchased from a few different garage sales. Many of us staying there experienced scratchy throats, coughing, runny and/or stuffy noses while in the house, which seemed to clear up when we left the house and went in to town. All of us felt that we were being charged premium pricing for a sub-par house.

Amazing getaway!

This was an excellent rental for our large family! The beach and lake were stunning, the house was spacious and clean, and the communication was great! There are a couple condition issues, but nothing that takes away from the enjoyment. We would absolutely stay here again! I do wish that the screens on the windows were all in place, and that the balcony door wasn't screwed shut, as it got REALLY HOT for the kids upstairs without air conditioning and the ability to open windows. Overall, this was the perfect vacation for us!!

fun family getaway

The house was perfect for us. The cabin does need some TLC, (light bulbs replaced, batteries in the remote) but overall, it was a great experience. The water heater was somehow shut off when we got there and trash was overflowing, but the staff quickly came and solved both issues. Beds were clean and surprisingly comfortable. The location is great, the sandy beach was a bonus, and the kids enjoyed the water. Smores were made around the bonfire pit, and the next day when it was raining, smores were made inside at the fireplace. We will definitely come back and recommend this cabin.

Not worth the money- poor preparation

Arrived to the property and there was tissue and juice bottle on the living floor, which I did reviews and also seen there’s a clause were there isn’t any refunds for housekeeping. The deck had a big hole big enough for my grandsons leg to fall through. Let’s not mention there was no water so I called and they seemed as though they were funding every reason not to come out. She eventually walked me through flipping the breaker. When I mentioned the heat wasn’t working she corrected me in saying that the heat did work. It took an entire day to drain the lines there was brown water running s long time. The next afternoon a maintenance man came and said the owner didn’t know it was rented and the heat was turned off. He was nice enough to get the heat working. Definitely won’t rent with this company again. Too many inconveniences, they need to prepare for the homes being ready prior to someone booking.

Great location, property could use some attention.

The location is great, the beach is excellent. We barely saw another person on the beach. It was like we had the entire stretch of beach to ourself. If there was some attention to the home to clean up a few things it would simply be a great place. Better beds, a better couch, a nice spot to clean off sandy feet. All simple upgrades that would make me want to come back. Unfortunately we will look elsewhere for next years trip.

Location and beach access are both amazing… Privacy is amazing - beds are comfortable The house it’s self needs some updates! We stayed here last year and the toilet had the same leak as it did a year ago. Wallpaper’s peeling, furniture is old and musty smelling, the stove works, but definitely takes a little longer to cook things. You get what you pay for. Not bad … just not great!

The location was great. Beautiful beach and quiet area. My only complaints were the condition of the home. It is a very dated. We couldn't even get a light to turn on in the kitchen. The beds were very hard and uncomfortable. Overall we enjoyed our stay.

Excellent Location...house needs work.

First...the view/location is awesome! The beach and water are beautiful and talk about a great place to watch the sunrise! The only issue with this rental is the house. It needs some deep cleaning and some repairs. There is a musty smell in the house that is very strong and does not go away. Some chairs need to be replaced on deck, some minor repairs around the house, etc... Again, beautiful view, the property just needs a deep cleaning and a few minor repairs/replacments.

Although the view was beautiful, it could not outweigh the considerable issues with this rental.

In short, the place has not been taken care of properly. Only a few outside chairs could be used due to their worn or broken condition. Numerous bedroom fans did not work and that is a considerable problem when that is the only ventilation the home has. Many lights in the home don’t work but that is helpful since the ceiling is covered in cob webs. I was surprised that a property management company would represent a home in such poor condition. This could have been a lovely home but no one is caring for it.

Great location, great place

Overall, it was a great stay. Right on the water. Plenty of room. Finding it for the first time wasn’t simple, but we found our way even though GPS took us to a nearby location. NOTE: The cell service isn’t good here and it does NOT have wifi. I didn’t realize that when I booked because the dozens of places I’ve rented in the past all had internet as a standard, so that was a bit surprising to us. But we weren’t there to stream movies so our lakefront time was well worth it.

The water and view was amazing

The house it’s self is actually cuter in person. We were there for the view and water and it did not disappoint. The house itself had plenty of room for us the only downfall is there was not a main bathroom on the main floor you had to go through a bedroom to the bathroom other than that it was amazing.

Not worth the money

No cable- no login information nothing and no one answered text ( I know it’s not considered an emergency ) No power/No water Yard garbage everywhere I think porches at least could have been blown off or sprayed. Like everything was filthy to sit On Freezer wasn’t keeping anything frozen. Dirty dishes when we pulled them out to cook and eat. Mold in bathroom Semi clogged drains Location was great but not worth the $$$. You can have an older home and it still be maintained well and cleaned.

East Lake Retreat- loved size and location, hated the flaws

Rating Details: The property manager was more than helpful. The vacation rental was somewhat dirty. I was very happy with the location. I was satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The House was great in size and location. The furniture was dirty and sandy, all the dishes were limed up and I had to use CLR to clean them all before we could use them. The showers were also limed up and water was very slow pressure, Cob webs everywhere. We left it much cleaner then when we arrived. We had to haul large dumpster of trash down to end of road that was over flowing when we got there for garbage pick up from previous tenants. CD Players dont work, Bdrm TV not work. When you open some blinds they fall off, have to put back up.
