We were unable to stay at this property despite messaging the host multiple times, and getting confirmations and approval for our pet to travel with us. We booked immediately after these messages and approval, and even received booking confirmations and payment through vrbo. We were told we couldn’t have an early check in, due to someone else staying at the property the night before. So we came into town with a tight schedule, trying to make it to our event. However we still hadn’t received the lock in code for the door (again we assumed they were still cleaning from the previous guests), and I messaged the host again as we were driving into the city. No response. We contacted vrbo directly, and after a long while, they sent us to a supervisor. They were unable to contact the host. We had to stop driving, screenshot and send all our emails, confirmations, and messages . Vrbo refunded us and booked us a hotel for free, siting the host error. All the while, traveling with our pet, and we missed the first part of our event. Very disappointed as we had previously had great communication with the host, and also received vrbo confirmations. We still had a great weekend thanks to the vrbo supervisor who was able to find a great pet friendly hotel for us, last minute.
