Being so close to the beach, there was no sand on the floor of the suite so I know it was cleaned well for the most part. The host got back to us almost immediately when I expressed concern after the hurricane from the previous weekend. Walking distance for us to the beach one way and the marina/shops/restaurants the other way so it was a perfect location for us. If/when we return, I will need to remind myself to bring bug spray for the mosquitoes, a shibumi and for the windy beach, and maybe the truck to drive on the beach.

Excellent location and excellent owners!

This is a newly renovated Suite, it is a nice size. There ended up being 2 adults and a teenager for our stay. There was an issue with another tenant so I sent the owner a message on VRBO and received an almost immediate response and resolution of the issue. The owners care about their tenants’ stay. The WiFi was strong. We didn’t read the description accurately nor did we notice that there wasn’t an oven/cooktop. There is a plug in cooktop though and a toaster oven if you are brave enough to try!The shower and bathroom are nicely sized, with the walk in shower being very nice. The deck is perfect for sitting on for coffee or cocktails. My only suggestions would be a new refrigerator (only for aesthetic reasons), however the one there works perfectly and keeps everything as cold as you want. I would suggest giving more towels than just one set per person for 4 days/nights. The sofa sleeper needs to be replaced, it is neither comfortable to sit on or sleep on. My teenager slept on a blow up mattress instead of the pull out sofa. The parking is tight at this property, we had to put the golf cart behind our vehicle and then we were still worried about blocking another tenant in. I would stay at this property again. The location is great, convenient to everything in the village.

Short first-time trip to OBX

The cleanliness, location, and responsiveness of the property manager were great. The location is close to the local general store/market, and the beach. The kitchen amenities allowed us to cook meals and spend more time exploring the island and at the beach. We would stay at this location again if we plan a trip back to the area.

My husband and I absolutely loved our stay here. Before the trip was over, we agreed we would hands down stay here again. The place was clean, modern, and had all the necessary items for a great vacation. The location also sold us. It’s convenient for all the places like Howard’s Pub, 1718 Brewing and convenience stores! Would love to return with friends and have the whole place rented :)

Clean, private, lightfilled room.

We enjoyed our stay.The property was very clean, comfortable and well thought out. There is no thermostat in the unit & the AC was very chilly. It took a while to get a message to the host, but the response was immediate and we were much more comfortable once they adjusted the temperature.

Overall a good time. I would suggest room darkening shade on windows (especially on window over bed) as neighboring house(s) had lights on all night…making it hard to sleep.

Wonderful place for a relaxing getaway!

Comfortable, Clean, Quiet, and Welcoming!! My wife and I really enjoyed our stay and Kelly was great at responding to any questions i had. We will definitely stay here again next time we take a trip to Ocracoke.

We Recommend Red Beard’s!

Red Beard’s is a very nice property and we would stay again. We expected a little more cooking capability in kitchenette, but it was fine. We brought a grill and griddle. We cooked and ate on the specious front porch. Parking is tight if other guests have large vehicles, which they did during our stay, and the neighbor across the street parallel parks. The owner was very easy to contact and was responsive.

Rainy Days

Would recommend this rental for any couple looking to visit Ocracoke. It was perfect for our needs, as we were only use to sleep and prepare ourselves for going out. We had already planned on eating out for our meals, so the lack of having a proper kitchen was not a factor. Both the bed and couch were comfortable and there was ample space to move around so we never felt cramped in the studio-style setup. If we were to nitpick and find fault at all with the accommodations, it would be the reduced water pressure in the shower, but it got the job done which is all that matters. Our only negatives over the 3 night trip were all external factors out of anyone’s control as our trip was during the waning effects of Hurricane Debby. If ever we have the opportunity to try to vacation in Ocracoke again, we would definitely stay at this accommodation again.
