We arrived just two minutes before reception closed, and the lady at reception was still very welcoming and polite, which we really appreciated after a long day of travel. "It took a day or two to warm up to The Beachouse. I was expecting more of a resort-feel but instead it felt like an upmarket backpackers. The breakfast supplied was very basic..cornflakes and weetbix, bananas, toast and spreads but you could buy a cooked breakfast. But it was very clean, and the food changed for evening meals and was very nice, especially the curries. "ABSOLUTELY the best choice to see the Flinders Ranges. The property was incredible. Easy access for walks/hikes, restaurant, reception. The coffee is VERY good! Haha. Friendly reception staff with the perfect info for 4WDing etc. I would go back there in a flash. I am in love with the Flinders and it was thanks to the staff. Oh the food! Oh and the wine! The reality of the island is far from what is advertised: ​No Beach: The beach in front of the hotel no longer exists; it has been completely washed away by the sea.
