We have rented several houses on vrbo. Tom was the greatest owner we have dealt with. The house was perfect. Kitchen well equip to cook Thanksgiving dinner. Lots of games and puzzles, which were all complete. Steps to the beach, and a great view from the front porch. Beds were comfortable, and pool is beautiful. Tom texted to make sure all of our needs were meant.
2 puzzles in the home. Everyone had fun putting them together

Wonderful Property

This is a beautiful home, extremely clean and with a fabulous location just across the street from the beach. This is the best equipped home we’ve ever stayed in : the kitchen has every utensil and cooking gadget you could need , including a separate ice maker. TV’s and internet were flawless and the assortment of chairs, beach supplies and equipment for a day at the beach were incredible. Our host went above and beyond to ensure we had everything we needed and that there were no problems or issues we needed help with. Backyard pool is a great bonus.

Anniversary celebration

This house was all we had hoped for and then some. We celebrated our 60th wedding anniversary with our family. From the easy access to the beach, the beautiful pool and lounge area, the elevator, the front porch gathering spot,etc, this house went above and beyond. Owner was quick to answer any questions and provide direction for fun activities. 5 stars plus !!!!

Girls Weekend

After years of discussion, our book club finally coordinated a women's weekend away from families & kids - and this home was the perfect destination. Bright, clean & cozy, this home has all the amenities you may need. Located directly across from the beach access, we could enjoy the sand & surf from anywhere. The pool felt incredible, and there were plenty of lounges for us all. Communication with the homeowner was easy, and he was very responsive to any questions or concerns. We look forward to staying there again!

Great location

We had an excellent stay. The communication with Tom was awesome and checking in was a breeze. The kitchen had everything we needed and the heated pool was a bonus. Great views from the porches and just a few steps to the beach! Very nice family vacation.

Annual family OIB vacation

Can't say enough wonderful things about the Blue Crab house!! The house location is fantastic, with just a few steps to the beach. The front porches give you an amazing view of the ocean, where we spent mornings and evenings relaxing and enjoying the view. The amenities offered were fantastic.... fully stocked kitchen, a wet bar with an icemaker ( we never had to go out to buy ice), an extra fridge and freezer in the storage room, plenty of beach chairs, boogie boards and beach umbrellas! The pool was a nice reprieve in the afternoon, with plenty of lounge chairs for relaxing while the kids played in the pool. The main level was a perfect size to accommodate the 15 of us, and very comfortable. There were plenty of games for us to play, while others relaxed in the living room and watched TV. The house overall was very clean and this was one of the BEST stays we have had in OIB!!!!

Fantastic Beach House

This property is excellent in every respect. It easily accommodated 11 guests, was clean, had everything we needed, and everything worked. The location is ideal, right across the street from a lightly used beach. Excellent views of the beach and ocean. The property owner, Tom, is an excellent communicator. He kept in touch regularly but did not overdo it. We asked for the pool to be heated due to unexpectedly cool weather, and it was done almost immediately. Highly recommended.

Cherished Memories

We planned this family reunion in June 2022. We added a special little one in January. Four generations ranging in age from 3 months to 83 years young. Absolutely stunning cottage, beautiful views, and impeccable host! Went above and beyond to meet our needs. Won’t need to bring much from home. Fully equipped. Would not hesitate to return year after year. Many thanks to our host Tom for making our family reunion one full of laughter, fun and especially wonderful memories that we will cherish for a lifetime!!

The best birthday ever - My Mom's 90th

My mother’s 90th birthday was her “Best Birthday Ever” - a family reunion at Blue Crab. We were 13 in number, 2 mos. – 90 yrs. The house was gorgeous, well appointed and equipped, clean and welcoming. Some of us had done numerous beach rentals at OBX and had brought a variety of household supplies and beach gear but were nicely surprised that the house already had those. We loved having an elevator to move luggage, lots of groceries and at least a couple aging family members. Bedrooms on the main floor were perfect for the newborn’s parents and the great grandmother who has very low vision. We enjoyed the perfect location, immediate beach access and panoramic ocean views. The great grandmother appreciated that southern beach exposure for more sun exposure but less morning glare. Our group had a gourmet chef who spoiled us at every meal. He was able to do so because the kitchen was so well equipped. He and his helpers were in the conversation because of the open floor plan. The location is easily served by Myrtle Beach and Wilmington airports. Our host, Tom, was exceptional before, during and after our adventure. He was humorous, flexible, kind, responsive, and attentive to every detail to ensure we had an awesome trip. There was a whale sighting during our stay and he texted us to inform us. During our stay, we opted to heat the pool for 2 days. Tom took care of this last-minute request to the delight of the toddler who discovered underwater swimming “again…again…again….again!” We enjoyed the well-equipped, comfortable, private and safe pool area, heated outdoor shower and that huge Weber Grill used during our final feast preparation. We could not have asked for a better host or property. The pics online give a hint of how wonderful it is. We are talking about how to make it an annual event. We would choose this house and owner again.

Location!!

Our stay was amazing! The house is fully stocked with anything you could possibly need. The location and is perfect with ocean views and direct beach access without feeling crowded by other properties. The owner was available for any questions and concerns; great communication! We loved our first OIB visit and are sure to be back.

AMAZING TRIP! Incredible house and stay.

We had a beach retreat for our college and career group at church and this weekend was so wonderful! The house was incredible, had amazing views, great location, and had everything needed. Tom is an amazing host who responded thoroughly and timely, as well as even checked on us during our stay. We were beyond pleased with our trip, and are already looking forward to booking again here!
