Disaster

Dirty, unsafe, floors sagged 2 to 3 inches from middle to sides, dirty clothes in the dresser, rug dirty, tub spout partially off, pillows smelled of makeup. We arrived Monday at 9:30 PM and left 7:30 AM Tuesday the next morning. Tokd Doug we expected a refund byt no reply. Communication with Melrose was almost non existant. Horrible experience.

Communications

It was a horrendous experience trying to reach the property manager. 2 rooms were booked in my name although I only booked one and after days of trying to reach the property manager, I finally got through the day before arrival. Unfortunately, the 2nd room that was booked in my name was only cancelled the day before arrival, although it was previously cancelled on January 25th.

Birthday party weekend.

We needed a place to stay a few nights and this fitted us perfectly for the weekend. I needed to change my code and they helped me right away. Everything is neat & tighty and was as described. Close to both Ocean Grove and Asbury Park downtowns. Walked the boardwalk and enjoyed the early morning stroll.

New Jersey shore stay

We really enjoyed this unique property! My boyfriend and I arrived a few days early for a weekend wedding. Our room was on the top floor of this bed and breakfast style home. The stairwell was very narrow but totally doable. We loved all of the outdoor seating areas available on porches and balconies. My friend stayed on the futon/day bed the first night while she waited for her boyfriend to arrive. This setup worked perfectly for one additional adult, but there's no way it would have been comfortable for her and her boyfriend to both stay (at one point we considered sharing the unit between the four of us since it is advertised for four). Two children would fit well on the daybed and the trundle, it just wouldn't have been ideal for a couple to stay. The other thing to note is that you do feel like you are creaking the floors on top of other guests a bit, which we did our best to be mindful of but my boyfriend is a big guy and felt like he was tiptoeing around. Lastly there is a gap between the bathroom wall and the ceiling, so bathroom privacy was good not great for a shared space with friends. A family or a not-shy couple would have no issue with that lay out. We loved the two TVs and the bed was very comfortable for us! Check in and out was super easy! Water and snacks were available on the ground floor plus bottles stocked in the room. We would definitely stay again!

Short week Great stay!!!

Great time and great hosts. Sheila was great very much appreciated her responsiveness and friendliness. Bed was super comfortable and linens were immaculate . Checked in Sunday night and left Thursday Short walk to the beach. The neighbors were friendly. Ideal getaway for us. Thank you thank you!!!

Great location/very clean

We were in town overnight for a wedding and this was 0.3 miles from the boardwalk wedding location. It’s very clean and well maintained. There’s a dorm sized fridge and no door on the bedroom FYI (we didn’t mind since it was just us but good to know if you’re sharing the space since it’s listed as sleeps 4 because of futon in the LR). Property owner was super helpful and responsive. The electronic lock on the apartment made check-in so convenient and enabled us to not even need to carry keys during our stay since everything is in walking distance). Highly recommend

Weekend getaway

This property was perfect for us! The location was so great. Very close to the beach and just a few minutes to town. Check in was super smooth and love the fact that you don’t have to worry about losing your key. Thanks again! We will be back!

Clean and nice but pretty small for how it was described.

It was good for me, my daughter, and 2 little grandchildren. Can't imagine 4 adults there, would be extremely cramped. Clean, quiet neighborhood, near beach. The owner needs to buy some lamps.

Wonderful weekend in Ocean Grove, NJ

My husband and I recently stayed at the Melrose for a weekend trip to Ocean Grove to meet up with family. Everything was wonderful! The rooms were very clean and the beds were extremely comfortable. The location was absolutely perfect! It was situated in Ocean Grove right across the lake from Asbury Park and we were able to walk everywhere. Will definitely be staying at the Melrose again!

The location was excellent, close to beach, restaurants and shopping on boardwalk, Asbury Park and Ocean Grove. The room was a bit smaller than it looked in photos, however, doable for two kids and 2 adults. Room and bath could use hooks to hang wet towels and suits. Cleanliness was adequate, there are definitely areas for improvement. Overall it was fine and I would stay again.
