Melfort has a unique charm. The walled garden has units with terraces, all except this one, which is an upstairs flat with rear access from the parking area. That was a disappointment, and something not made clear by DAE when it was offered. It has the best view of the loch, though, which partly makes up for it.
Quality comfy beds, and lovely bathrooms. Well equipped - you would never have to run out of essentials like loo rolls or dishwasher stuff [some resorts are very stingy on this]. No books or games though. Only two small criticisms: the kitchen/living room has no cooker hood or extractor, and low ceilings. Food smells are immediate as soon as you start cooking. The flat is above the laundry room, and the whole room vibrates when the spin drier below is in use. It's a bit disconcerting to feel it through the sofa at 11pm when you are relaxing. A shame that the bar/restaurant was on very restricted winter hours in the pre Easter week, which was mainly spring-like with glorious sunshine.
The area is just stunning, Best in Scotland I think.
