Great stay for week long family stay

Wonderful stay and house that was perfect for our situation. We were a family of 5 adults and 1 child under 2. There was a lot of space to play in the house, nice natural light, a good seating area for evenings. Multiple of us worked remotely during our stay and we also had great proximity to many shops and Trader Joes. Very peaceful and beautiful neighborhood good for walks. Host was also very responsive and upfront during our stay.

Great house!

Our family had a great stay. The house is located in a perfect location, walkable to restaurants and parks and very easy access to I580. The house has a lot of charm and a nice patio. The host is very responsive!

Great location, awesome house, wonderful host!`

This is a beautiful property just on the edge of Piedmont and Oakland. Walkable to restaurants on Lakeshore and Grand, as well as the weekly Farmers' market on Saturday. EJ was very communicative and quick to troubleshoot with any issues that came up during our stay.

Just right for our family reunion

This spacious house easily accommodated 6 adults and 2 children. We enjoyed cooking and eating together, playing with the games in the house, reading the house books, and taking advantage of the neighborhood. I would rebook this house -- there is nothing else like it in the area.

Outstanding

Our stay with impecable both by how stunning the property was and how unique it is, but also because of how Ej was on top of things and he shared with us very detailed information about the accommodation and made sure we were comfortable. Totally recommend this both for couples like our trip or potentially for family reunions. Would definitely love to stay there again.

Great place to stay!

This was a very spacious, clean place to stay. 11 of my friends and I stayed in this house and it comfortably fit all of us. It is also super close to cute shops, restaurants, and a park. I would definitely recommend staying here. It was nice and relaxing :)

Great stay for my family

This home was very warm and inviting for my family while in town for a wedding. EJ is very responsive and did everything he could to make our stay positive and friction-less. I highly recommend EJ and this property for anyone requiring a spacious, clean and conveninent place for a large gathering.

Great property, great communication

We've used this property several times for work collageues who are visiting Oakland. It's a nice safe neighboorhood, walking distance to the Grand Lake area. It's a great comfortable house, well appointed, and great communication from the owner.

Phenomenal Home! Amazing Art! Fantastic Neighborhood!

This was unique in the many VRBO homes I have leased. Location of this home was amazing! Nearby clubs, shopping, and restaurants, all are walking distance. The home was incredible! Gorgeous structure, high-end furnishings, including original art and a grand piano! Lots of room, and a lot of outdoor living space. I will rent this place when I return to the area, there is nothing better!!!!

A chance to feel like a millionaire!

This is a hidden gem in the Oakland area. We felt so at home here and really enjoyed a chance to meet the owner. Everything from the furnishings to the artwork just makes this a wonderful place to stay.

Ideal home for family vacation

We held our annual family reunion at this beautiful home in Oakland, California. The rooms are beautifully decorated and have comfortable furnishings. The kitchen is well equipped and the large dining table was perfect for gathering at mealtime and playing board games afterwards. EJ is easy to work with, and all-in-all we had a great time.

Stunning house in a great neighborhood

Simply gorgeous and majestic architecture for this house nestled near Piedmont. Big beautiful dining room perfect for a dinner party. TWO beautiful high ceiling common spaces - one with a piano the other with beautiful skylights. The outer decks provide a nice spot to relax and get some fresh air. There's a wonderful art collection on the walls which along side the high ceilings and stunning column entrance ways really gives this place a high end atmosphere. There are some amazing restaurants nearby (Shakewell - Dinner and Rolling Dunes - Brunch). We got treated so well and would love to go back to visit these places. The reason it's not a 5 star is that it felt a bit expensive (weekend rentals are quite high), checkin time was later than most places, check out time was earlier than most places and the property manager wanted $100 per hour if you wanted a little extra time and $20 per person for anyone coming by the house and $200 more to open any bedrooms you weren't using so we only had access to 1 bathroom....so it felt a bit much with all the added fees for everything....It was just a little disappointing that the place actually had a hot tub but it wasn't available for use - it wasn't advertised until you checked in but for the price it would have been nice to be able to use that amenity. But all in all the house is so gorgeous and so special we were glad we stayed there and celebrated our anniversary and had a beautiful dinner party there. The pictures capture some of it's beauty but it's even better than the pictures depict!!! We'd definitely go back. You'll love the place. It is special.

Wonderful vacation

The house is very well located in a nice neighborhood where you can take walks, run, with restaurants ans shops close by. The house is comfortable with an spacious kitchen and dining room. We were a group of 10 friends and didnt have any problem accomodating the whole group.

Our family had a great stay in this spacious, special home. We enjoyed the large rooms, high ceilings, comfortable furniture, huge dining room table, 2 outdoor decks and especially the center 'den' with a big, flat screen TV and streaming Netflix that offered many hours of entertainment for all ages. A great feature is that there are doors that close off this room from the rest of the house. The kitchen is well-equipped and the 3 bathrooms were well stocked with towels, shampoo and soap. Great stay in Oakland

This is a well maintained house with comfortable beds, great dining room, a spacious living room and an atrium as a family room. Shops, restaurants and groceries are all within walking distance. The kitchen is very nice, complete with island, but there are a few missing implements if you're into gourmet cooking (eg. no whisks, working thermometers, pie servers), but it's well set up for simple family dining. I'd recommend this place, and I'd stay here again if I found myself back in the area.

The Best VRBO House We've Ever Stayed In

My family and I have stayed in many vacation rentals and this is the best (though not the most expensive) we've had. The house is spacious, comfortable, beautifully appointed, clean and bright. The art work, carpets and plants were a nice bonus, as were the bookcase full of children's books for our little ones. The location could not be more perfect--in a pretty, quiet neighborhood that is very walkable. Shops and restaurants are a few blocks away, as is Lake Merritt. Within a couple of days we were easily navigating ourselves around to the many grocery stores, playgrounds and parks that are a short driving distance. Everything we needed seemed to be between a half mile to two miles; we could have been here without a car if it hadn't been for wedding events in SF. EJ was a terrific host! We didn't need much as everything was already provided and everything worked! But when I discovered there was no ironing board, EJ had one to us within minutes. When I worried that there was no set up for both grandchildren to be together with their parents, EJ brought over a toddler bed straight away. Any questions were answered by text or phone within minutes. Concierge-level service! And our deposit was electronically refunded the day after we checked out! We were a happy family in Oakland to celebrate the marriage of one of our children and this house made the occasion even better. Thank you, EJ!!
