R&R Getaway
Our group of six families recently enjoyed a weekend getaway near Bass Lake, staying in a spacious home in Oakhurst, just a 10-minute drive from the lake. The accommodations comfortably fit our large group and were impeccably clean upon arrival. Clear directions and prompt communication made the check-in process seamless.The kitchen’s refrigerator and freezer were impressively large but posed some challenges. Their heavy doors made them difficult to open, and we often felt like we might pull them out of their housing. Additionally, there was a 30-second delay before they could be reopened, which was a bit inconvenient.We encountered a couple of maintenance issues likely left by previous guests. A kitchen drawer’s front panel detached upon opening, and the vacuum cleaner was broken. One of our group members kindly purchased tools to fix the drawer, but these issues should have been addressed beforehand.The home’s proximity to grocery stores was convenient for restocking supplies. However, we found limited entertainment options in Oakhurst. We were disappointed to discover that the local children’s museum had permanently closed, leaving fewer activities for all of us families with children.Despite these minor setbacks, we had a great time and appreciated the comfortable accommodations. With a few improvements, this rental could easily earn a five-star rating.
