House was in a great location. Master bed was very comfortable. Hall shower has amazing water pressure. Thanks for making our first time in Oak Island so pleasant.

Good communication from host. Cottage is older construction, but well remodeled and decorated on the inside. There are plenty of amenities that make your stay more enjoyable.

Great getaway

Loved the house and location. Didn’t read the description well and didn’t realize it was a duplex but that was my fault for not reading the online description. Having neighbors didn’t bother us at all. My kids and I have always wanted to rent a house right on the beach and the location and price of this home made it possible!! We had a few hiccups that were of no fault to the house or host. The management company was horrible at communicating and the issues they needed to resolve did not happen in a timely manner or return my phone calls. Communication with the host was amazing and he made it right. He was made aware of all the issues also and was very quick to respond. Would definitely stay here again!! Cute little home!! And perfect for the amount of people we had in our party. Especially once we got to use the second bathroom!! lol thank you!

Needs some extra updating

Location was great. House was clean but had a musky smell especially in bedrooms. Mattresses and pillows need replacing. The water was not on at fish cleaning area and was supposed to per VRBO.

Good sea side view

The overall experience was good. Except for the property being very old and could have better maintenance. There was nail on the outside patio which was popping out and my I tripped on it while walking out to the steps for go to the beach. Otherwise the caretaker was very responsive with all the questions.

Off season paradise

This is a duplex which I somehow missed when booking, but thankfully it was very peaceful as we had no neighbors. The house was charming, a perfect location and a wonderful view. I would definitely stay here again

Snow trip

We were lucky enough to be there for the artic blast and saw snow on the beach. Since roads became impassable , we were allowed a free night, which was nice.. except the pipes froze and we had no water.. to wash, cook, flush or clean. Trying to get home today ….would have wished for longer , a beautiful,comfortable place to relax, but best with water!

The view and location are wonderful! I feel the unit should could be better appointed with simple necessities, such as soap and toilet tissue. Had to purchase those items as I was quite surprised to find them unavailable.

Not a House! Duplex with thin walls!

My husband and I were looking for a location where we could have a quiet, private Christmas. This location was advertised as a house. It is not. It is a duplex so the back porch is shared. Instead of having the privacy we wanted, we ended up having coffee with strangers on Christmas morning. The beds were very comfortable. The view was great, but had we known this was a duplex, We would not have stayed here.. we could hear muffled conversations the whole time we were in our side of the duplex. If noise doesn’t bother you, this is a nice place.

Can't beat the view!

The view from the deck is exactky what we wanted. The home was nice but seemed the cleaners stayed home between the last stay and ours. The keys from the previous guests were still on the counter so other than the linens people, nobody checked the status before we arrived. We didnt bother calling the PM to report this because we didnt want any intrusion during our stay. The place was tidy but not clean.

Nice Enough in a great location

Overall the house was in good working order but the dusty and musty air made us all feel congested. There is visible interior damage to the walls in the living area. The linens provided by the property manager were very thin; I would have brought my own had I known it was a rental linen package. It wasn't clear when the quilts were last cleaned but the property manager did tell us they had been cleaned recently. Beach access was great.

Lovely View, be aware it’s a duplex

The property is in a beautiful location. Unfortunately, we did not realize it was a duplex and upon arrival we had to listen to a young child pound away as she ran through the attached unit. The following night, it was peaceful however, at 1:45 am the next round of guests checked in and woke us as they arrived and banged around until after 2 am. They also decided to wander over to our side of the deck which we found to be intrusive. If it weren’t for the noisy neighbors, I would have given this property 5 stars all the way. Unfortunately, the thin walls and noisy guests put a damper on our experience.

Repairs and Infestation

Multiple repairs were needed. Arrived on Saturday communicated with rental agency via voicemail at least twice. No response from Sat to Mon. I had to contact them again and sent pictures. Two were repairs that impacted the kitchen. We had ant infestation and roaches.

Perfect View

Despite the weather (awaiting arrival of T.S. Debby), the view of the ocean from the deck was mesmerizing. I spent most of the days content to watch the watch the weather and the surfers catching the large waves from the comfortable chairs on the deck, out of the sun but enjoying the breeze and incredible views. Upon arrival, I reported several minor issues to property management (about 10), which they addressed the first business day. None of the issues materially impacted our enjoyment of the property. For cleanliness, I gave 4 stars because it was mostly clean, except for considerable sand in the sofa when we arrived. They gave it a good clean.
