The check in process was a disaster. I did not receive check in instructions and had to utilize, VRBO messages, other rental website messages, phone calls and text messages in order to get in contact with our host. We finally got in contact without host who then contacted the property manager to give us the code. Check in was at 4:00 and we did not receive the code for the door until 6:30 and it was wrong. We finally received the correct code directly from the host at 6:50 after driving around Oak Hill with two unhappy toddlers for 2 hours. The host did refund 50 for the incorrect code - but the problem was far greater than one incorrect code being sent. I stayed here with my wife and children (3,1) and the stairs ARE NOT SAFE. Both of my children are steady and comfortable on stairs. There was 12" between the vertical railings and a child could have easily fallen through.The linens and beds were clean (although uncomfortable) but the floors were FILTHY. We did not wear shoes in the house and all of our socks were dark brown at the end of the day. The benefits of this home were that it was pet friendly and had ample games in the downstairs area for older children and adults, but we will be choosing a different house the next time we visit.
