Comfortable and remote.
Mark is wonderful to deal with. Super attentive. House is very nice to spend a few weeks in. Pros: check in, communication, accommodations, well stocked kitchen, hot tub , great water pressure , lots of hot water, sleeps up to 10 if you use the pull out sofa and finally, a really quiet location that the dogs loved to run around. No cons. One note, if you are there for skiing it’s a 30 minute drive to steamboat mountain. And the home is located 3 miles down a un paved dirt road. The road was slippery at times and always dirty. So I would suggest a 4 wheel drive vehicle and you will need to rinse the car off every so often If snowing it’s a long way into town and back. Recommend home highly but not great if you plan on partying in steamboat. ,

Peaceful Stay
This is a beautiful home down a peaceful road near Oak Creek. We stayed during the winter and it was an easy drive to Steamboat for skiing. The home is well appointed and very dog friendly. The hot tub was perfect for our sore skiing muscles. We will definitely be back!!

Incredible home for dogs!
Took a quick getaway to Steamboat Springs with a friend and this house was just incredible! My Siberian husky loved the pond and beautiful surroundings as well as all the wildlife! The kitchen had everything you could think of! Soaking in the hot tub was the cherry on top! I’ll be back!

The place was clean and tidy. Out in the country away from the business of the city!! It’s been 6 days from our checkout and we haven’t received our $585.00 deposit back yet. Mark said it should come soon though! I’ll report back on here when it arrives.

... for our long ski weekend. Well-equipped kitchen for making meals and dining in. We had four couples and one couple chose the bunk beds downstairs rather than the pull-out sofa. Not entirely private but we're close friends.

An Amazing House & Remote Location
If you want to get away for a peaceful retreat, this is the place. If you visit in the winter months, be sure to have adequate tires/traction. The owners were very helpful. The house is amazing.

Great place to get away
The property is beautiful, and there was plenty of space for our group of 8 guys. Big, well equipped kitchen, perfect to cook big meals and everyone could congregate around the island and enjoy our meals. The hot tub was awesome at night, and Mark was quick to come over and check it out one afternoon to make a minor repair on it. Not too far from steamboat either. Would definitely stay again, I bet it's gorgeous in the fall

Secluded getaway near Steamboat Springs
Unique luxury guesthouse that is far enough away from Steamboat Springs that allows for a private and quiet vacation. The home was very comfortable and we were pleased with the amenities provided. It was a great place for our two Welsh Terriers to enjoy a beautiful backyard with lots of grass to run around on. The landscaping is gorgeous and is an ongoing project which will be fun to see the completed design. Mark has put a lot of attention and thought into making the home comfortable. The hot tub is great and there are many oversized towels that are provided as well. Enjoy watching the fabulous night sky while taking a hot soak. There is a gas grill as well so don't forget the steaks! We especially appreciated the fact that there is an evaporative cooler available as well as a couple of portable fans if needed. An especially unique item is a water tap for purified water located at the kitchen sink and the two upper bathrooms. Driving into Steamboat Springs was easy on a well maintained dirt road that fed into a paved highway. Many books provided as well as DVD's and games. Thanks Mark for offering your guesthouse for us to enjoy!

Loved being there!
I think this was the best place we could have stayed during a family wedding in Steamboat! I loved the house and the beauty of the land and area. Only thing that might be improved upon would be the bed in the lower level. It was not as comfortable as the other beds. Other than that it was terrific to be able to stay there and we loved it! Thank you so much for such a great place to stay!

Quiet, clean, and comfortable
We stayed four days at this property. Everything was clean and ready for us on arrival. It's a beautiful home with great views and the peace and quiet of the country. It's close enough to Steamboat that food and everything is a short drive away, but far enough that you feel unplugged and have privacy. The beds are really comfortable too! We would definitely return to this property.

AMAZING Home, Wonderful Host!
Tho 20 minute drive to Steamboat was SO worth it for this place. A unique and gorgeous guest home, the kitchen was very well stocked. The entire home was immaculately clean. The space was great for three couples. The hot tub is out of this world! They had plenty of towels, robes and slippers - a wonderful touch. Thank you for an amazing stay, we’ll be back!

Amazing space + host!
I booked our vacation stay a year in advance for a family vacation we were planning. We anticipated each group would get their own stay, but naturally - the rest of the fam waited until all of the other spaces were booked for prime ski season. I completely forgot to update our stay with the number of correct guests and Mark was so flexible with us when we arrived and allowed us to update the number of guests on the spot as well as helped us obtain enough towels/robes/and slippers for each of us. He was so kind and even helped us when our truck broke down upon arrival - sending referrals and suggestions. He allowed us to bring our 3 dogs who go EVERYWHERE with us - the space truly felt like a home away from home on our vacation. The architecture in this space is INSANE. In literally the best way possible. I'm unsure if Mark did the work himself, but if he did, he truly outdid himself. Heated concrete floors, beautifully constructed light fixtures, and the coolest layout I've even seen. When we arrived and first cruised in to check out the space after our 18 hour drive - all of us were ecstatic and in awe. We absolutely will come back to stay at Mark's place.

Weekend near Steamboat Springs with our pets
We had a fantastic stay at Mark's guest house for a long weekend of skiing at Steamboat. The house is great, it was 3 couples and we all felt comfortable with the space. The house allows pets, which allowed us to bring ours and that was a big plus for us. Short drive over to Steamboat in the morning, we were able to get into the free lots without much effort in the mornings. The house was super clean when we arrived, and check-in is as smooth as can be. No issues throughout the weekend, easy communication if something did come up.

Great getaway from civilization!
We absolutely loved this place. Family wanted to visit Steamboat Springs to see the fall leaves change. It was a beautiful experience. The hosts were really accommodating to us and catered our needs to cook and bake! Its also not too far from Steamboat so we could head into town fairly quickly. I would advise getting your food before checking in though. Sometimes the connection you have on your phone gets lost since you’re in a more remote area. I will definitely be visiting this listing in the future.

Our family stayed here in August. We had a great time. Any questions we had, the owners promptly replied. Comfy beds for a good night's sleep. Played cornhole, enjoyed family meals at the large table in sunroof or outdoor patio and some hot tub time. Our dogs were busy the whole time amused by the chipmunks. Owners have put a lot of work and finishing touches to the home. Thanks for a wonderful time.

Awesome Birthday Experience!
Had a wonderful short stay at the Emerald City guesthouse with our adult children and their partners for my 65th and couldn't have had a better experience. The guesthouse is pretty unique and quite stunning inside and out. The star of the trip might have been the patio & hot tub as we seemed to spend most of our time visiting and relaxing on the patio and enjoying the large spa and its various features. The views from the patio are open through the valley to the East and the stars at night are always so impressive when there is so little light pollution to drown them out. East and West bedrooms were super comfy, although patio door is through the West bedroom so perhaps better for those who stay up later if it involves using the spa later at night. It is secluded and we enjoyed the remoteness, but may not be for everyone. We hired a personal chef to come in and cook my birthday dinner and they seemed to enjoy working with the French Top stove and the Wolf oven. He even had the grill going for one dish so pretty much used all the 'cool kids' cooking equipment! We ate on the back lawn (summer visit) surrounded by Colorado's immense beauty and sounds (So many birds!) and I couldn't have had a better birthday dinner and location. Mark is super helpful and communicative and really strove to make sure our stay was enjoyable. 5 stars from start to finish!

Our family enjoyed our time in this wonderful guesthouse. We did a mix of vacation and working remotely. We enjoyed walks/hikes on the property. Lovely Spring Break Getaway
Our family, including our two dogs, had a great time over Spring Break. It was a much needed escape. It's not far from Steamboat Springs and we were able to easily get into town for whatever we needed. We also spent sometime at nearby Saddleback Ranch where there are many outdoor options. My husband was excited to try out the disc golf course which was definitely fun but challenging, especially in snowshoes! The house is well stocked and really had everything we needed. comfy, quirky house away from it all
this house is off the beaten path - great if you have dogs or just need some peace and quiet. Hot tub is roomy and relaxing. The house was well-stocked (lots of coffee makers and coffee!!) and owners are very responsive but not obtrusive (apparently they live next door, but we did not see them). Nice showers and super comfy couch; TV needs to be lowered. All in all, lovely stay.

A beautiful sport
This is a great property if you want a little isolation and quiet. Simply fantastic to come back from a day's activities on the mountain and enjoy the hot tub as the sunset, or the snow continued to fall! Blazing fast internet (80mps up/down) in case you also want to do a little remote work. We had a wonderful stay - thank you Mark!

This was a great trip. Mark responded promptly when I had questions during our stay. I also have to comment on the meticulous accommodations. There was sensor soap dispensers, slippers in case the floor was cold, chopped wood for the fire place, everything you could need for cooking a dinner. It was wonderful. I would highly recommend this property.

Most fun game ending event ever!
We were wanting a small reception for our wedding, coronavirus wasn’t going to put a dent in our plans to finish 2020 married. We booked this emerald cabin so that we could have our event and spend family time together. We decided against hiring staff like waiters etc for the wedding and so the cabin was perfect due to the ample space & accommodations. You know you do t think of the laundry that prevails during a trip, so having laundry detergent was great! And we had plenty of robes and towels to hang out in the jacuzzi while it snowed outside! It was perfect to have the gas bbq since we forgot to load up the smoker. It would have devastated our wedding menu!! The experience to use the fire to warm up the house not only showed us what it’s really like to live in a cabin like this and it was very fun to build a fire outside in the pit too. I highly recommend this vacation home to anyone. The owners are very cool and easy to get along with. Nicest and smart people too!

Four friends and I had a great stay here on a recent hunting trip. The property is spacious, clean and well appointed. We had everything we needed to hang out in the evenings as well as cook meals. We enjoyed having a wood stove and lots of seasoned firewood after long days in the cold. Great stay.

We stayed one week in this neat house about 6mi outside of Oak Creek. It served us well while elk hunting in the area. Owners were very courteous and helpful. They've recently installed more landscaping and green grass outside/around part of the house and is very nice to relax on if the day is warm enough. Thanks for hosting us!

Overall a great Stay
Mark's guest house is a beautiful and well maintained guest house with plenty of space and a great deck with an amazing hot tub. The guest house is not as secluded from the main house as I was expecting, but it was not a big issue and we really enjoyed our time there. Mark was quick to respond and is very attentive. It's about 20 mins from downtown Steamboat and is in a very beautiful rural area.
