Perfect quiet vacation location

This location was beyond perfect for our week getaway in a quiet area of the Cayman Islands. There was plenty of space for four adults and 2 toddlers and could have easily accommodated 4-6 more adults. It was a quick drive to Rum Point & in close proximity to a hidden treasure Cayman Crystal Caves. We also didn’t mind the drive to the west side to visit more touristy locations such as seven mile beach. The owners & local management of this house were extremely nice, communicative & a wealth of knowledge both before and during our stay. The ocean provided an area with crystal clear water and great snorkeling. In addition, the house had paddle boards and canoes. My kids loved the books provided, the massive set of checkers and of course the pool. My husband and I enjoyed the newly added arcade games. There is definitely lots to do in the house should the weather be less than ideal, while children are napping, or before bed. The mosquitoes at night are terrible, but there’s nothing the owners can do about them. We saw government vehicles spraying multiple times during our stay. The ONLY reason I’m mentioning it in the review is to let anyone know visiting the Cayman Islands you definitely want to add bug spray to your shopping list. In short - we definitely are keeping the information for this Vrbo and planning to stay here should we ever have the opportunity to return to the Cayman Islands!

Windy paradise!

The Blue Vista was wonderful. Lots of space inside and outside. We were there during high winds, so couldn't use the pool or go in the ocean. But got great tips for scuba and food from the owner. We will definitely return. Really good experience.

Great space / Private Oasis

I rented this home for a family vacation, that included my elderly parents. Everything you could possibly want is onsite or a quick message to the groundskeepers and it would be delivered. Lots of space…indoors and outdoors. Felt very private. Would definitely recommend this home!

Relax Relax Relax

Our stay here was just what we needed. It was perfect for 2 families to unwind, spread out and enjoy the sound of the waves. We loved the quiet location. Just minutes from everything we wanted to do involving kids, ages 9-16. So close to go diving and the snorkeling was superb. Highly recommended if you like to stay away from tourist traps. Disappointed: older home, not clean, difficult layout

Sadly, our stay at this vacation home was overshadowed by several issues, which we hope the owners will address to improve the experience for future guests. One main concern was the poorly supplied kitchen, which made meal preparation difficult. For example, there was a lack of measuring cups, no tea kettle, and minimal kitchen tools, such as a peeler. Despite frequent cleaning, ants persisted on the countertops and inside the microwave. Furthermore, the cleanliness was subpar, evidenced by dirty plates, bowls, and a coffee maker that still contained grinds from the previous guest upon our arrival. The house layout also proved inconvenient. With the master bedroom's en-suite bathroom, three bedrooms shared a single bathroom. The washer and dryer were only accessible through one bedroom, turning laundry into an uncomfortable chore. Additionally, the ominous messages posted on the washing machine regarding towel overloads were off-putting. While the property's proximity to the beach initially seemed attractive, most of the beach was off-limits due to private property markings, making it hard to find a suitable spot to relax. We were also disheartened by the absence of advertised pool toys. Despite confirming the availability of pool noodles beforehand, none were provided, leaving our children disappointed. During our stay, we encountered several maintenance issues, including a malfunctioning air conditioner in the master bedroom and a toilet with flushing difficulties. The former required a service call to the property manager. The property manager's unannounced visits were unsettling, such as when he appeared at our screened-in porch during our dinner without knocking or ringing the doorbell. His irregular presence around the property without warning added to our discomfort. On a brighter note, the home provided ample parking and an open-concept layout, which fostered quality time together. Nevertheless, the overall experience was underwhelming. We hope the owners will consider these concerns and make the necessary improvements for future guests.

Wonderful stay in paradise!

This is an awesome property. Literally on the water with a pool. Home was very clean and well stocked with items to cook. Don, Donna and Dainsly were all wonderful to work with and very helpful. We had to leave early because of Covid-19 crisis. We look forward to coming back and staying at Blue Villa!

Enjoyable but not quite as expected.

The booking process was easy. The owner/ property manager were kind enough to let us drop groceries off prior to check in. Minor hiccups with cable out, resolved after two visits by property manager and cable company. Fully stocked. The home is as described and the views, beauty and charm of the island can’t be beat. We were a bit disappointed in the hustle and bustle on the property. There is an owners suite in property that we weren’t expecting and lots of traffic there, it appeared as through they were preparing for the owners arrival. Unexpected pool, maintenance and property manager on site daily definitely took away from the private oasis we were hoping for. While I understand the need for maintenance, it would have been. Ice to know this was a possibility and we would have reconsidered. There was a dog that lurked on the property daily- seemed kind but it was unexpected. We spent a week in another home the week prior and were notified of when the pool cleaners or anyone stopped by rather than realize there is someone outside the window as you are changing. ThIs property needs a bit of TLC and minor updates (drains are slow, pillows were stained, just get a bit used). The other property we stayed at was cleaner, brighter, less cluttered and cheaper than this home. I think if we hadn’t had such a stellar experience at the week prior we would not have had such high expectations. Overall, we enjoyed our stay on this amazing island. While the property didn’t quite meet expectations, the property manager was kind and responsive as needed.

Fabulous!

The location is great! We enjoy being away from the hustle and bustle and this was perfect. There are lots of good restaurants nearby, so you can still have fabulous meals out. Waking up and looking out at a beautiful ocean is truly wonderful. We enjoyed snorkeling right off the beach using the lagoon to the left or on non rough days by walking straight out in water shoes. The condos to the left were under construction when we were there, so there were very few guests. But, even if they had been full, I don't think it would have disturbed us too much just because of the way it is layed out. Everything was just wonderful!!

Fantastic Family Vacation

I have family of four with two teenage girls. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Old Man Bay. The house was beautiful with all amenities needed and plenty of comfortable space to spread out. The views were amazing from the deck, the private beach was incredible and the pool was perfect to cool off. We explored the island and had a blast - definitely rent a car. The Crystal Caves are only 3 min away from house and this was a great excursion. Definitely go see the Stingrays as this is a amazing experience. Only thing to keep in mind is food is very expensive in Grand Cayman, need to shop at larger grocery stores on island to get better prices and more variety. There are plenty of restaurants on both sides of the island. Overall a fantastic Vacation.

We absolutely loved Blue Vista! The house was fully appointed, had everything you could need, just bring food and swim suits. We were traveling with a 20 month old and they were kind enough to provide a pack and play for him to play and sleep. We spent every minute of the day for our entire stay enjoying the beautiful backyard. It doesn’t get much better than floating in the pool and having a view of the ocean. We got to see the most amazing sunsets under the gazebo right on the beach. It really doesn’t get better than this. Also, the property manager was fantastic. He even met us at the grocery story to help us find our way to the property when we were lost. The management company recommended an amazing photographer Irene Corti, and she came out to the house took fabulous family pictures around the property and beach. Thank you for making our stay so special and for sharing your home with us! We hope to come back soon!!

Totally relaxing

We had a great time!! This home is so comfortable and relaxing. It has all the extras that we needed and the onsite manager was so responsive and went out of his way to make sure we were taken care of. My only request is to put the curtains back up. The blinds helped a little but otherwise you’re up when the sun comes up.

Clean and Gorgeous

The photos are accurate beautiful and for our trip in early Feb. windy. Not a bad thing just good to know. The property manager Dainsley is attentive but not intrusive, if you want to snorkel remember to use the tide pool next door left side cut the right side is rocky. We enjoyed eating on the porch sitting by the pool and even though there is a condo complex next door we only saw a few people all week. We got food to go from The Caboose many days reasonably priced and good food just around the corner. It is a short trip to Rum Point for the Stingray sandbar trip or to Morrit's for scuba diviing but if you want seclusion stay here.

Beautiful property and location!

My family had a relaxing week enjoying all the comforts and amenities at Blue Vista! Kitchen is fully stocked, furniture is very comfortable, the outside living space/pool were our favorite spots!
