Grand Cayman is one our favorite island vacation spots with beautiful beaches, crystal clear water, good dining options, lots of water related activities and importantly, welcoming residents. The only negative might be that, like most islands, everything is about 20-30% more expensive that in the U.S.
Our stay in the tranquil "Beautiful Beachfront Oasis" was really enjoyable. We will return! The condo is located in the upscale Kaibo area of the island's North Shore. The grandly named Kaibo Yacht Club is next-door with a couple nice beach eateries. The beach entertainment area of Rum Point is about five minutes drive away. North Shore is a 45-50 minute drive from the airport/Georgetown/Seven Mile Beach so a rental car is definitely needed.
The condo is on the second floor of a four unit building with scenic water views from it's moderate sized screened balcony. A great place for quiet morning coffee or to relax at the end of an active day. The sandy beach in front is nicely shaded by palm trees but I found swimming to be better at Starfish Point, about a four minute walk away. Surprisingly, we saw/felt zero bugs so the repellant remained packed during our entire stay.
The condo itself was compact, very well maintained, clean and tastefully appointed with a tropical beach theme. The kitchen was well stocked with cookware and utensils. There were plenty of towels of various sizes and a comfortable king-sized bed. The table and chairs on the balcony served as our dining area.
