My extended family met here for a family vacation and we had a wonderful time. There was plenty of space for everyone and the short walk to the beach was wonderful! We spent most of our time playing at the lake.

Family getaway

We enjoyed our stay at the Grape Escape. I had several questions before our stay to clarify the sleeping arrangements and the owner answered all of my questions thoroughly so that weren’t any surprises. Our group of 14 ranging from 15-82 all had plenty of space to sleep and spend time together. The kitchen had everything we needed and I especially appreciated that the rental included towels, linens, shampoo, body wash, conditioner, hand soap, paper towels, hand towels, dishwashing tabs, etc. Thanks for a great stay!

Not as Described, Terrible Customer Service

Summarizing due to limited characters: Booking process was good. Great communication from Deanna, the property manager both before and during stay. House appeared clean, but many things that are easy to fix, weren't: Toilet paper and towel holder coming off the wall, blinds broken, scuffs/scrapes/dents all throughout, curtain rod falling down, carpet torn, etc. Not big deal, just notified so they could fix later. Bedrooms: 1 King Bedroom and 2 Queen Bedrooms as described. However, the other 2 spaces were not. We had 5 families who each should have had a room. Instead, there is a LOFT with 2 double BUNK BEDS, and 2 twin BUNK BEDS, one room had a trundle bed (not as described), plus a couple had to sleep on a pull out sofa. When we pulled back the comforter on the king bed, it was clear there was a dip in the middle of the mattress. When we looked, the entire frame under the mattress was broken. We had to move the mattress to the floor to sleep as it was not able to be fixed. (handyman came out the next day). Also discovered the patio door was permanently locked. Handyman confirmed they knew about this and didn't tell us. This is a major safety concern, and didn't allow us to use the amenities described in that space (fire pit, grill, etc). We reached out to the owners for partial refund (25%)and were denied. Then they stopped communicating altogether. We had adults sleeping on couch and floor, not all amenities available and safety (egress) concern, but denied partial refund.

Peaceful getaway!

Our group of 7 “older” women enjoyed our stay. The house had everything we needed We were able to tour some wineries, browse the town and enjoy some time together. North East was a pleasant surprise!

Lots of space, with nooks and crannies for the grannies.

Our family met up here when the west coasters came back East for a visit. We had a wonderful time, though too short--mostly visiting rather than seeing the town. The house was fantastic. It's in a lovely neighborhood with yards full of flowers and the lake very nearby. We had 16 of us, with room to gather in the living room, dining room, and deck. We all found places to sleep, although the spaces are slightly different than shown on the website. One of the bunks is a queen, the other a single. So the bunk space has 6 spots. We visited Freeport Beach for a few hours one morning; the lake has a sandy bottom and there's a small river running off it which was great for skipping stones. Our group ranged in age from 7 years to 83 years. The young ones especially liked the game room and the bunk room for hanging out. We all loved being in a house big enough to fit the whole clan! Troy was very responsive from before the booking until we were finished with our visit. He answered all our questions and was quick to reply. Thank you, Troy, for sharing your wonderful house with us. It was a perfect fit for our needs.

Great Home with all the amenities

This home was perfect for our group. We stayed here and skied at Peek n Peak for a long weekend. The basement and game room was perfect the older kids to hang out in at night and there was plenty of room for all of us. The house was very clean and well stocked. The hosts were extremely helpful with a booking mistake that I had made and instantly helped me that our weekend wasn’t cut short. The town is adorable and we enjoyed eating out at the restaurants as well. I would absolutely stay here again.

Clean and a well-stocked kitchen

Our group had a great two nights stay at the house, very clean, a lot of space for everyone, deck overlooking the lake was amazing, kitchen has everything we need to cook 2 meals at the house.

Great Place!

This property was everything described and then some. Very clean, nice location close to attractions yet far enough away from hustle and bustle to have quiet restful time following a busy day. The beds were very comfortable. Kitchen; adequate cooking/eating supplies and many spices available. Dish washer pods, trash bags. Supplies were more then what we had experienced in the past with laundry suppies, toilet tissue, shampoo, conditioner and body wash. IT WAS AMAZING to have these supplies which save you so much time from having to run to the store. There were 1 or 2 minor issue which the property manager, Deanna, had alerted us to prior to our arrival and apologized for. Deanna was very sweet and prompt to answer any of our questions and provide information on local attaractions, shopping, etc. The owners (Troy and Kait) also contacted us (via email) to assure our stay was what we expected. We would definitely stay at this home again!
