The house was gorgeous! We enjoyed using the kitchen, ping pong table and hot tub. Everyone’s rooms were comfortable. We didn’t have kids with us on this trip but we would definitely recommend for families as there were a ton of toys and activities for kids! In the area we went hiking, stargazing, horseback riding, played pickleball/tennis, and went to a farm for cheese. This is noted by the owner, but definitely have routes planned out in the area beforehand as our gps went out of service. We enjoyed our stay and would definitely visit again, thank you!

Girls weekend

We had a small girls weekend with family. Great place if you looking to just chill, if your looking for shopping, town is small not many stores. Victorian house decorated to time period. We enjoyed ourselves

Great place

Large, incredibly charming but modern-equipped home. Wonderfully secluded, the hot tub was a perfect way to unwind. Ping pong table was a nice bonus. We really felt like we found a hidden gem, and my friends gave me all sorts of credit for finding such a nice place. Hosts were very responsive and helpful. A. Highly recommended!

Beautiful Victorian

The house was beautiful and charming. The owner was really responsive, it was close to Gore and we got to relax in front of the fire every night. We'd definitely stay here again.

Loved all the details!

My family stayed here with my twin boys for their 16th birthday. The teens and their friends loved the ping pong table, the wide assortment of games and the big spacious barn. Mom &dad loved the hot tub and all the lovely details in the home!

Amazingly beautiful home!!!

This house was even more beautiful in person than what was on the listing! The whole house was so comfortable to be in - it made me want to live there! The extra cabin in the back with the hot tub and games was a nice addition to our stay.

A step back in time

We had a wonderful family vacation. We cooked meals, went skiing, took long hikes and did jigsaw puzzles. Everything was wonderful and we will be back. Thank you!

Fantastic place and home .

We planed ski trip with New Year celebration. Ski plans collapsed due to snow shortages but this fabulous home and place made our trip a blast. Home with character, plenty of rooms and not to forget cedar spa - fantastic. Thank you Leslie for having us.

Just incredible

This was the coolest, cleanest, quirkiest, cutest, most fascinating vacation rental I’ve ever stayed in. I’m a sucked for a well equipped kitchen- this one had everything I could have wanted and more. The details of the house were exquisite, from a craftsmanship perspective and a storyteller’s perspective. The amenities were luxurious, from the beds and baths to the cedar soaking tub. The hosts were delightful. Not only do I want to come back, I wanted to buy the place. Such an experience!!

Wedding

The house was spectacular. We traveled from Rhode Island for my sons wedding. I needed something big enough for all of us and this house is perfect. Although we weren’t there a lot of the time, there was plenty of room for us when we were there. The details of this house make it even more pleasurable. Thanks for a great stay!!

Eclipse party

We were three couples, three old fraternity brothers and their better halves who gathered from various parts of New York to witness the eclipse. I was lucky enough to discover this property after looking around for suitable lodging. We were impressed by the workmanship of the house. There was ample room in the kitchen and dining room. The bathrooms were large and easily accessible. We had the downstairs bedroom because we had our dog with us. It was a beautiful room but the room could’ve accommodated a queen mattress. Having come so early in the spring, I’m certain we missed all the beauty the area would’ve offered at a later date. Overall, our stay was all we could ask for and we wouldn’t hesitate to visit again.

Such a cool house!

We stayed one night to host a game night birthday party for my fiance, and it was such a a cool house! It's got old Victorian charm, but updated amenities! I loved that the dining room table was nice and big, and could fit up to 8 people easily. We didn't have our kids with us, but my daughter would have LOVED the mini sink in the kitchen with the mini utensils, and even an easy bake oven. The rec room was very cool and it had a stage and all kinds of dress up costumes that kids would love too! Now back to the things the adults loved; the natural cedar hot tub was so nice, and interesting! The natural oils of the cedar turn the water a cedar color, and I thought that was very cool (and was kindly explained by the list of info left by the hosts!) Leslie was responsive and made check in super easy. There was a fire pit listed, but when we got there I didn't see it, and messaged Leslie. She informed me that they had received a surprise 16 inches of snow and it was unfortunately buried. But it was totally fine, and the hosts had been kind enough to make sure everything else was cleared for us, and there was a clear path from the house to the rec room barn. Overall, we had a great stay. I highly recommend this house and this host!

A Most Extraordinary Experience

My 3 siblings and I gathered from WA, NY, CT, and NH for a very rare weekend together at this extraordinary home in rural upstate New York. We could not have been more thrilled with the accommodations so thoughtfully provided by our host, Leslie a Clement and her daughter, who so lovingly restored, tastefully updated, and carefully appointed this beautiful 1910 Victorian home last year. The living room and each of the 4 beautiful bedrooms was equipped with a delightfully functional propane-fueled fireplace, which we employed both for comfort and atmosphere the first night we were there. The kitchen was well-equipped with every utensil needed to prepare and bake the dishes we brought along and would work just as well if you came with just scratch ingredients. Our first day was spent around the very large, 8-seat, dining room table where we spread out hundreds of family photos that we plan to use to build family yearbooks from. The second night, after a shopping and dinner at a German restaurant in nearby Glens Falls, we retired to the living room alcove and played cards, passing several hours in animated conversation. Every bedroom, as well as the living room, is equipped with a monitor and ROKU system offering several different channels, but we only rarely used them. The home is fully equipped with excellent Wi-Fi, which came in handy as the area is spotty for cell service, which we overcame by linking our phones to the Wi-Fi system for perfect reception. The exquisite woodwork throughout the home is amazing and never more so than in the breath-taking work done for all of the ceilings (which doesn't appear much in the photos here, but stopped all of us in our tracks the moment we entered the place). With 4 bedrooms + a daybed off the master BR, 3 bathrooms (all with showers and 2 with deep deep tubs that were perfect for a late night soakings), as well as fully equipped laundry room, kitchen, dining room, and living room (with board games supplied), this was everything we could have asked for! If you're in the market for a uniquely lovely, quiet, retreat, each of the four of us could not recommend this more highly. Don't pass up any opportunity to enjoy it yourself. You won't regret it.
