The property was easy to find and was in a perfect location for our time in Bennington. The cottage is quite small but clean and totally quaint.. almost like a tiny museum! The owner is a local artist and her talent can be seen throughout the cottage. My daughter, her fiance and my two grandkiddos came for a day and we had a lovely picnic outside on the patio. We brought them bikes and there was plenty of room for them to practice riding them. Amy and her son were lovely and the kids were able to pet some baby rabbits. Unfortunately, there were no turkeys at this time but we did see some ducks. As for a bit of history, the property was used as a temporary hospital and the cottage housed some of the underground rr slaves. The only negative was sitting on a small loveseat in the evening to watch a football game. Not the most comfortable and would have been great to have the tv mounted in the bedroom so you would have the comfortable bed to sit on or cozy up together under the covers.
If you are looking for a high end luxury cottage, this is not for you, but if you want a clean, quaint small cottage where you will be awakened by a rooster every morning, then book your stay with Amy!
