The views from the home are beautiful and relaxing. The beds are comfortable. The showers are small, and the shower heads are way too low for most adults. It is an old house, and it looks more like a museum of a family's life so to balance that I have some suggestions. Two main ideas to think about. The stove is nightmare to use, so at least leave instructions about using it. We had planned to make meals there, but the pots and pans didn't sit onto the stovetop well. All vrbo-type rentals I have been in have a welcome basket of fresh tea bags, coffee pods etc in a little basket that conveys hospitality and comfort. The instant coffee was 3 years expired and stuck to the bottom of the container. The home might seem luxurious, but those details bring it down. Get a toaster that doesn't have a broken handle. It may seem picky but the devil is in the details. I flew from Texas to see my family and having the right tools to cook together would have been appreciated. The refrigerator and dishwasher were very good.

Disappointed

While the view was beautiful in the day, the lack of heat on half of the house, ants that were on counters daily....., the 3 inch of dust and uncleanliness of the gym area was very disappointing. Also the house had electrical problems with lights flickering, some lights not turning on and very creepy and unsettling feeling that was in the house. I can almost guarantee that house is not up to code regarding electrical. Too many unclean areas that felt like they hadn't been cleaned in over a year or more! I would recommend deep cleaning all cupboards and floors better. Also the ceiling on the main floor bathroom where the shower is was full of dead bugs and spider webs. Then the floor in the kitchen was sticky like it wasn't properly cleaned. The rooms were not technically separated upstairs as a make shift wall is there with really no privacy. The random weird glued shut doors and cabinets were also very strange, not in a good way. The house is very catholic, if this truly is a rental I would suggest making it comfortable for all religions. Whatever bad mojo is in the house made it a very uncomfortable stay.. very very disappointed and didn't have a restful vacation like I was hoping for. You should also add that the walls and windows are paper thin and the house was very loud with passing traffic all hours of the day and night

Many rooms with a view

This house has plenty of room to spread out and areas to be together. Excellent views from nearly every room in the house. The beds were comfortable. The house is dated and very dusty. Overall we enjoyed our stay.

Wonderful View but...

While the house is expansive, with an excellent view and good location, it seems to have been built and furnished many decades ago and never updated. All the furniture is old and shows it's age, including the beds. That is to say the interior needs a major cleaning and renovation. We did enjoy our stay but the condition of the house did not meet our expectations.

Great place!

Absolutely beautiful home! I love all of the photos and activities that they have available. It’s very homey. The sauna was AWESOME! Nice big kitchen game room was a nice touch! We would stay again.

Views of the Bay can’t be beat

This is an excellent choice for views of the water and large families with children. This very large, lushly landscaped home provides lots of games and activities for children and adults. It has a sauna, large exercise room with weights and equipment, pool table, foozball, library, chess table, jacuzzi bathroom tub and loads of board games. The upper deck is fully enclosed so the littles have the freedom to play - this was a plus for us! The kitchen provides the means to cook for a large group. We really enjoyed our stay and hope to return someday.

Vacation on the coast

This property was beyond amazing! The home was spacious and was perfect for entertaining. We sat and watched the bridge while we drank our coffee in the morning. We worked out with a ocean view. We would unwind in the bar room in the basement while our kids would play the piano and we would make a cocktail. I give this property a five star and would like to return someday soon.

Great Space, Great Views, a little wierd

Let's start with the good. We had an amazing time at this vacation rental for our family of 5. We are 2 adults in our 40's with a 27, 16, and 13 year old. There were endless things to look at and explore. The house was full of collections of books, games, music, art, clocks, and more. The location and views are great. Stunning actually. We used the indoor wood- burning fireplace for a cozy feel every evening. The outdoor fire ring was also amazing with a great space dedicated for sitting around the fire! The sauna worked fine and was enjoyed several times by our group. The kitchen furnishings were very dated but was still an amazing cooks kitchen with upgraded range, ovens, and large refrigerator. So that's a lot of positive things. The problem is, we never could quite feel comfortable and "nestled in." The couches in the TV area are WICKER with (20-30 year) old cushions. The fabric couches in the next sitting room appeared even older and were stained in places, as was the extremely old carpet. We never sat on those. Another thing that made it uncomfortable were the the beds. At least the upstairs front bedroom mattress was noticeably sloped, even while made. So hard to sleep in there. The house was mostly clean but there were some very notable exceptions. Huge cobwebs in the work out area. Cobwebs and spider nests in the sauna. Cobwebs and bugs in the vaulted shower. And then there was the mixture of politically charged and religious books and other items. SO MUCH Catholic decor. A Mousilini apron. Pius art. All that said, our group still had a great time. We thank the family for sharing their home. Would I recommend it? That would depend on the party I was recommending to. Would I return? If there was updated furniture to sit on, carpet, and an updated mattress, yes!

OLD HOUSE WITH A GREAT VIEW.

At one time this home was quite a house. The character of the nic naks, antiques, and artwork are unique and interesting. The furniture is a bit old and the kitchen can use some help (only 7 forks). The landscaping is beautiful and the bay views made up for some of the homes issues. The rent plus fees are a bit pricey compared to other vacation rentals.

Interesting and Funky Old House

Overall house the worked great for our Bandon Trip. Interesting remodels to an older house. The listing should mention that the two upstairs bedrooms are not completely separate. Awkward shower areas as the separate spray wands were not great and the main heads are too low. BBQ propane was empty. Lot's of outdoor seating options. Enjoyed the sauna and the view is great.
