Thank you for taking the time to review our property and thank you for your feedback, it is really important to us. The past 6 months have seen some major changes at Mokutu with new management working hard to update information on on-line booking sites, as well as gradual room and property upgrades and renovations. This has been an ongoing process. All but one of our Suites and A-Frames have now recently been updated and modernised. Unfortunately the A-Frame mentioned (the only one available at the time of booking) is the last to still undergo renovations which will be completed later in the year. Online room descriptions and images have also been reviewed and amended where necessary. We apologise that your stay was not satisfactory however new management is working hard to continually improve and update the property and your comments are a valuable part of that process. Thank you for providing constructive feedback through your property review and bringing our attention to a few things (some we were already aware of, others we were not). As you mentioned, Mokutu had a change of management in October 2014 and our new management has since been working hard to improve the property in an effort to maximise our guest’s overall experience – your valued feedback is an important part of this. We agree that when you stayed at Mokutu, the One and Two Bedroom Suites were out dated and we apologise for this, however since March 2015 four of the five have had the interiors repainted, kitchen floors retiled, kitchen benches replaced and bathrooms retiled and revamped (including replacing the old hairdryers). They are now much more modern and comfortable. It is true the Suites not do afford as much privacy as the A-Frames and Cottage and this is one of the reasons we charge a more affordable rate for the Suites. The pool area has also undergone renovation since January is now in its final stages with the concrete surrounds soon to be repainted and expected to be completed by June 2015. Unfortunately the colour of the pool paint is a particularly dark blue, however the water itself is cleaned and treated regularly to ensure it is kept as clean as possible. Unfortunately due to circumstances beyond our control the Café is still not presently operating and we have corrected all advertising to reflect this. We are very sorry that you weren’t made aware of this before your arrival and we understand your disappointment. Thank you for pointing out the problem with the TV reception (and apologies for the inconvenience to you). Following your feedback we had the exterior antenna checked and it turned out there was a cable that needed to be replaced. This has been done and TV reception has been restored. Our apologies about the internet, unfortunately one of the inconveniences of being on a remote Island. We apologise also for the confusion regarding breakfast inclusions and in an effort to avoid any future uncertainties we have spent a considerable amount of time in the last few months ensuring that all advertising (especially on-line) is correct and up to date. With regards to location, Mokutu is privately and peacefully located out of town, a short (5-7 minutes) drive from the shops and beach. I am not aware that it was advertised differently, however I sincerely apologise if this is the case. Thank you once again for your feedback.
