Our stay at this house was very mixed. On the one hand, the house is lovely and quite spacious. We like the patio and ate our meals out there for the most part. We very much appreciated all of the beach gear that the host offered -- the chairs, toys, and snorkeling equipment -- and used it every day that we were at the beach. We also appreciated all of the notes on restaurants, supermarkets, and beaches to visit. Super helpful.We were not prepared for the level of unrelenting heat in the common spaces (living room, dining area, and kitchen), and the lack of systemic cooling systems. Quite frankly, we suffered from the heat the entire week, even with every single door and window open. We were extremely uncomfortable while in the living room, dining room, and kitchen -- so much so that one of our kids rarely came out of the bedroom during our time at the house. Every time I cleaned up after a meal, my shirt was drenched with sweat. I was grateful the one morning that the air was cooler after a hard rain. But then there were bugs -- lots of them. This, too, was very uncomfortable.The host listed list air conditioning as an amenity, and noted that it is in the bedrooms, but the description did not make it clear that the rest of the house cannot be sufficiently cooled down. We have been in touch with the host directly about this problem.
