Linny is the most gracious host and the apartment was wonderfully appointed. She made sure we had a few items in the fridge and coffee. The location is close to many things and still out in the beautiful countryside. Would definitely recommend to anyone looking for a place in this area.

Amazing stay!

We had a wonderful weekend and really enjoyed our stay. The cottage was absolutely beautiful and Linny was so welcoming. We can’t wait to come back!

We stayed here Christmas week 2025. Linny is such an amazing host , she thinks of every detail. We were welcomed with a Christmas tree and treats and even a present for my grandsons first Christmas. It’s always hard to create magic when you aren’t home for Christmas but not here, it’s a magical little hideaway with ALL the comforts of home! Highly recommend! Clean, quiet, luxurious and welcoming! Will be back! Thank you Linny!

Our stay was fabulous! The cottage is clean, comfortable, and in a peaceful location. The host checked in on us and left a nice welcome gift. I would definitely recommend staying here if in the area.

Absolutely loved this place!

We were meeting a new family member for the first time and this place was the perfect location! They were very accommodating hosts and our visit felt like a second home! Will definitely book here again for the future!

Fantastic location and everything is just like as described. The communication with the owner was great and the place is immaculate. The balcony is a great huge with a great view. We will definitely be back!!

Not only is the property beautiful, but Linda is the absolute best host. She was kind enough to supply fresh eggs from her chickens, staples in the fridge and fresh baked goodies. The house is very well supplied. My kids loved exploring her property and we’d come back in a heartbeat if we’re in the area again!

Our Get Away

This is a wonderful property! Private, secluded area yet not to far from all the amenities that you need! The owners are great and you feel very welcomed at the start of your stay! Highly recommended for a couples retreat!!!

5 Star Host and Comfy / Quiet Cottage

I have never felt more welcomed at a VRBO. Our host, Linny, goes out of her way to make you feel at home. From the excellent communication starting from the reservation and continuing throughout the stay to farm fresh eggs, orange juice, muffins, and wine awaiting our arrival. I highly recommend this VRBO and will definitely making another reservation here soon.

Getaway from the big apple

The owner was incredibly lenient and very welcoming. The outdoor area was amazing, especially for families. My kids loved the pool and the owners left it each day very clean. This was such an amazing stay and would definitely recommend it, especially to get out of a busy city and have a couple of days in nature.

This place is a gem

Our stay ay Linny’s was truly enjoyable. From check in to checkout we were catered to. The cottage is the perfect size and very well maintained. The property is beautiful and a great place to relax and unwind. Everything you need is within a few minutes of her as well. If I’m ever around this area again I will most definitely be scheduling another visit here. Thank you Linny for everything

Bucolic getaway in Virginia

We wanted to find a getaway property outside of DC and found this gem. It's just over an hour west of downtown DC via I-66 and has everything that we wanted: quiet, surrounded by trees, a private pool, and modern amenities. The added touches include a well-stocked gym, a nice welcome package, and chickens - who enjoy visitors and provide some exceptional eggs. The owners are genuinely great people who strive to make your stay the best it can be.

Relaxing vacation spot

My fiancé and I brought our dog for a 3 night mini vacation. The guest cottage is a fantastic place to stay. Very comfortable and completely updated. Relaxing at the pool was great and there’s plenty to do nearby. Linny (property owner) was exceptional. Upon arrival there was a bottle of wine, fresh eggs, fresh fruit, and fresh muffins waiting for us, which is above and beyond other similar rentals. Highly recommended! We’ll be back.

Best place we have stayed!

I’ve stayed at a fair amount of rentals over the years but this place checked all the boxes. It was clean, nice decor, well stocked, comfortable, quiet, safe, child friendly and very responsive. The homeowners were so nice and extremely accommodating. I received a nice text message prior to arrival and a sweet note with some goodies when we got there. Linda arranged for my kids to feed the fishes and chickens which they loved so much. We were mostly gone visiting family during our stay but we were able to enjoy the grounds as much as time allowed! We hope to be back next year!

Superb, clean and quiet!

Simply outstanding and the property is as per the descripttion, except that they don't note how nice, open, communicative and friendly they are. Probably excessive modesty. We loved sitting by the pond in the late light under the cantina lighting watching the last of the sunlight on the shadd lawn.

Wedding weekend getaway

10 out of 10 from precheck-in to departure! Linny was such a gracious host! She sent us a note prior to our arrival to give us detailed directions and instructions upon arrival. When we walked into the cottage, we were greeted with a welcome note, congratulating us for our upcoming wedding, cookies, and sparkling water. Linny was responsive whenever we needed anything and the cottage was even more precious in person. We will absolutely stay again when we re in the area!!

Relaxing Labor Day Getaway

Our family of four had a wind time reconnecting on this trip. The host, Linny, was so welcoming. She messaged me before the trip to find out some of our favorite snacks and had them waiting. Even though it was a little chilly for the end of August, our 11 year old had an amazing time in the pool. She also got to help take care of the goldfish, koi, and chickens. Our 14 year old daughter loved the home gym. We all got in good workouts during our four night stay. Our Yorkiepoo enjoyed the home as well. We did some light cooking and found the kitchen to be well stocked. Thank you for a wonderful getaway!

Summer Getaway

We had a wonderful time at the cottage this past week! Check in was very easy and the cottage was ready when promised. We were greeted with fresh baked cookies and a lovely bottle of wine. Communication with Linny was fabulous throughout our stay. We had fresh eggs most mornings for breakfast after using the on-site gym (wow!!!) and then headed over to the pool unless we were going out for the day. There was plenty of space for all of us, including our pup Olive. The cottage was fully stocked with everything we needed and then some. Beds were comfortable and the kitchen had the best appliances! One night we were able to use the corn hole set and they even brought us some ice cream! We HIGHLY recommend this property for some R & R with a great central location to some fabulous wineries and breweries, hiking, and Washington DC. Thanks Linny!

Linny's Hideaway

Everything about this rental is wonderful. Extremely comfortable, clean, and well thought out. Linny communicated with us about a late arrival, made sure the property was well lit and a comfortable temperature for when we finally arrived, and even stocked the fridge with some breakfast food (including fresh eggs from her own chickens). My toddler loved the chickens, wide open spaces to run around, and calm area to sit by the pool. My husband loved the workout room. I've never stayed anywhere with the host on the property. It was a non-issue. The rental was very private, and Linny communicated with us just to be sure we were comfortable and taken care of. She even offered to push the checkout time later and take care of tossing unused food in the fridge since we were traveling for my brother's wedding and a had a late night the evening before. She was so flexible and really made us feel taken care of. I would rate this 10/10.

Lovely stay

We were in the area for a week-long day program at the Clifton Institute for our son (about a 25 min drive from the cottage). I was able to telework from the cottage (internet is great), and even chose to work outside many days.The cottage was clean, bright (in a good way), welcoming, and nicely stocked with essentials and starters. An added bonus for folks with allergies, asthma, or smell sensitivities - this property is FANTASTIC. It really is fresh and clean - "free and clear" detergent in the washer/dryer, no dryer sheet build up, no plug-ins. Easy breathing. Linda is a genuine, thoughtful, and conscientious hostess. In our experience with previous rentals, it can be challenging for some hosts to strike the right balance of available/supportive, without being intrusive. Here, we always felt at home, had our space, and could reach out with any questions or needs. We especially appreciated the recommendations for local restaurants, ice cream, and festivals. And the welcome note and goodies, were such a personal touch.We spent several evenings in the pool, met the chickens, and spent a TON of time outside. There's a lovely grassy patio area off to the side, with privacy and a view of the birds and koi pond.Great experience, and we look forward to returning next year!
