We had a beautiful relaxing stay, the views are magnificent and my children enjoyed having the pool all to themselves especially for those late night swims. The apartment is fully equipped with everything you can think of which was lovely. Everything is very close but you definitely need a car and to be a confident driver abroad. Liz and Quentin are wonderful people and full of knowledge and stories if you would like to chat or you can just go about your holiday and they will leave you be.

A beautiful location with stunning views. The property was lovely with lots of charm and character. It was also well equipped with everything we needed and was very comfortable. This is a truly wonderful place and it looks even more nice in reality vs. The pictures. It’s a very peaceful and calm place but in only some minutes you reach all the big hotspots! We visited Monaco , Cannes , Antibe and the near by beaches really effortless and in no time . The hosts are amazing and the entire family loved the place . It’s extremely tasteful decorated and very well equipped. Nothing is missing . The pool is very nice

A Provençal Escape – Peaceful, Welcoming, and Wonderfully Located

Our stay at Liz and Quentin’s villa in Gattières was absolutely unforgettable. The home is tucked away in a quiet hillside village, offering the kind of peace and authenticity you dream of when visiting the South of France. Yet, it’s ideally located for day trips to stunning destinations like Nice, Antibes, St. Paul de Vence, Monaco, and Grasse—all reachable by car.From the moment we arrived, Liz and Quentin made us feel completely welcome. Their warmth, hospitality, and great recommendations (every one of them spot on!) made a real difference in our experience. They were always available when needed but never intrusive—just genuinely kind people with a wonderful sense of adventure. We especially loved spending time with them and their sweet cat, Boots.The villa itself is charming and beautifully maintained, with plenty of space for our family of four adults. The kitchen is fully equipped with everything you need to prepare meals, and the outdoor space is a dream—perfect for lounging by the pool, grilling, or simply enjoying a quiet moment under the olive tree. We even made lemonade with the fresh lemons right outside the door!After a day of exploring the region, it was bliss to return to such a comfortable and serene space. This was more than just a rental—it felt like home. We can’t recommend this place highly enough.Thank you, Liz and Quentin, for sharing your special slice of Provence with us!

Großartige Unterkunft und Lage

Sehr freundlicher Empfang durch die Vermieter, im Kühlschrank bereits Prosecco und Wasser kalt gestellt sowie eine Schale Obst auf dem Tisch. Hervorragende Ausstattung bis ins Detail. Die Vermieter sind unaufdringlich, sehr freundlich und zuvorkommend, gaben wertvolle Tipps für Ausflüge ins Umland. Hervorragende Gastgeber. Sehr ruhige Umgebung mit wunderbarer Aussicht sowie zauberhaften Garten mit Terrasse und Pool. In 20 Minuten in Nizza, schnell an anderen hotspots.

Liz and Quentin were wonderful host. Our stay was wonderful. We would highly recommend them.

This property was absolutely beautiful. The villa had everything and more that you could want. It was very close to many towns within a short 10 min drive. My husband walked every morning to the towns bakeries for fresh baguette and croissants. The location was perfect. Liz and Quentin were the perfect host. They were so helpful with suggestions for restaurants and day trips. Hopefully we can visit again.

la location est très agréable avec une belle vue sur la mer et la rivière. nous disposons d'une terrasse privée pour manger dehors. la piscine était chauffée a 24 degrés. les propriétaires sont charmants. gattières est idéale pour partir randonner à pied ou en vélo. nous nous sommes régalés

Merveilleux !

Unglaubliche Aussicht, tolle Außensitzplätze, netter Empfang

Sehr schön: Außensitzplätze, der (tiefe) Pool, der Blick über das Var-Tal bis zum Meer. Das Vermieter-Paar ist aufmerksam ohne aufdringlich zu sein und sehr nett! Innen ist es eingerichtet mit Bildern, Büchern und Deko - eine professionelle, aber keine sterile Ferienwohnung. Das Kinderzimmer ist eine kleinere Kammer mit einem Fensterchen, das als einziges ein Fliegengitter hat. Eines der Kinderbetten ist etwas kürzer (170 oder 180cm). Dusche, Bad und Betten sind komfortabel, viel Platz in Schränken und Kommoden. Draußen gibt es eine sehr gute Ausstattung mit Liegen, Grills, Sitzplätzen an alten Bäumen auf verschiedenen Ebenen. Die Küche ist ein Schwachpunkt, etwas ungepflegt und minderwertig ausgestattet. Es ist eine ruhige Gegend, aber draußen hört man aus dem Tal ein stetes Rauschen vom Verkehr und bisweilen hört man Musik o.ä. aus Häusern an den Berghängen. Im Ort (650 m) gibt es einen erstklassigen Bäcker (das Baguette!), einen Supermarkt und weitere Geschäfte. Für uns war die Lage (oder vielleicht die ganze Cote d'Azur) allerdings nicht gut wegen der zeitraubenden Fahrerei zu Küstenorten und Dörfern. Eine Fahrt zwischen dem Haus und der Altstadt von Nizza dauert nach unserer Erfahrung eine knappe Stunde oder länger. Wir sind auch mal das P+R-Parkhaus der Bahnlinie 1 angefahren (Parcazur Henri Sappia). Das ging nicht schneller, hat aber die Nerven sehr geschont. Das ist der Haken an der ansonsten tollen Ferienwohnung!

A real gem!

This is a gem of an apartment and we feel very lucky to have found it. Liz and Quentin are wonderful hosts, they gave us a warm welcome and made our stay extremely comfortable. The amenities are excellent, the apartment had everything we needed for a wonderful stay, the heated pool was a huge hit with our children and having use of the garden terrace and bbq was a real bonus. The area has magnificent scenery and the views from the apartment are really impressive. Gatierres is very pretty and only a short walk away. The location meant we could easily explore a number of beautiful and interesting places including Nice, Vence, Tourrettes, Antibes, Cannes and Monaco. I would defintely recommend to anyone. A huge thank you to Liz and Quentin for your hospitality, it was lovely to meet you both xx

Wundervoller Rückzugsort trotz Nähe zu allen Annehmlichkeiten

Wir haben eine wundervolle Woche mit unseren Kindern (6 und 8 Jahre) verbracht. Nizza, Cannes, Antibes, Vence, Monaco und Supermarkt, usw. sind gut mit dem Auto zu erreichen. Der Pool bietet nach Ausflügen eine gute Abkühlung und der Grill bzw. die Terrassen laden zum gemütlichen Ausklang des Tages ein. Parkplatz, Waschmaschine, Spülmaschine sind vorhanden. Die Gastgeber sind wahnsinnig herzlich und zu jederzeit diskret. Wir freuen uns jetzt schon auf ein Wiedersehen! sind sehr herzlich und gleichzeitig diskret.

Beautiful and restful oasis

We had a lovely 2 weeks at Liz and Quentin’s gorgeous place. They are the ultimate hosts making sure we had everything we needed including recommendations for places to visit and great restaurants. Whatever the plan was for the day we always ended up back at the pool lounging peacefully under the olive tree. We ate breakfast every morning on the balcony overlooking the valley and sometimes we stayed in evenings and cooked as all of the kitchen utensils and bbqs provided. We can’t recommend this place enough!

Excellent stay

The location is perfect. The charming little town is in close walking distance. It has a little supermarket, a bakery, a restaurant and a take away pizza-place. The pool is great, the view is great and the hosts are both discreet, warm and welcoming. Wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again.

Superb hospitality!

Lix and Quintin are the consummate hosts. Le Contadour is a wonderful place to stay for a trip to the French Riviera. It's inland from the coast in Gattières, providing good access to the lovely hill villages nearby.

Lieve Liz en Quinten, Dank jullie voor de zeer vriendelijke ontvangst ook al waren we 3 uur te vroeg. Jullie huis is prachtig en werkelijk alles is aanwezig dus als gast ontbreekt het je aan niets. Tijdens onze laatste borrel vroeg je ons of wij nog iets willen toevoegen aan de inventaris maar we zouden het echt niet weten want echt alles is aanwezig. Jullie gastvrijheid is enorm en jullie vriendelijkheid en interesse in de gasten is hartverwarmend. We hebben genoten van onze gezellige borrels op jullie terras en de vele verhalen die ons de hele wereld overnamen. De omgeving was bekend bij ons echter de Côte d’Azur beneemt ons iedere keer weer de adem. Monaco, Menton, Ventimiglia, San Remo, Antibes, Juan les Pins, Nice, St. Paul en Vence liggen allen binnen bereik en zijn makkelijk te bereiken met de auto. Er is zo veel te zien dat je je als toerist hier niet hoeft te vervelen. Als we toch een kleine tip mogen geven dan zouden wij adviseren om een lamp op het balkon te maken zodat je buiten kunt zitten en bijvoorbeeld een spelletje kunt doen. Wij hebben het zij-terras eigenlijk niet gebruikt want we vonden het uitzicht vanaf het balkon zo prachtig. Dank jullie voor de heerlijke weken in Le Contadour. Relaxing Haven

Amazing welcome here - we loved our stay at this property. Very relaxing, cosy, clean home. Gorgeous pool and fabulous view. Slept so well in comfortable beds and honestly didn’t want to leave. Thanks for a wonderful stay.

Amazing stay!

Fantastisch. Een adembenemend uitzicht vanaf dat je opstaat tot wanneer het donker is en de lichtjes van Nice allemaal branden. Het huis heeft alles wat je nodig hebt. De attentie van de gastheren en de gastheren zelf geven je een hartverwarmend welkom bij aankomst! Quinten en Liz zijn beiden super vriendelijk en heel behulpzaam. Ze geven je een warm thuis gevoel! Ideale basis tussen Nice en Monaco, dus genoeg te bezoeken voor jong en oud. Als het ons lukt, komen wij graag terug volgend jaar!

June trip

We had a lovely time staying in Liz and Quentin’s property. The location was brilliant with beautiful views down the valley and a wonderful pool to relax in. They were great at giving us recommendations locally of where to eat and we enjoyed drinks with them one evening, getting to enjoy the views of their property. Very generous hosts. Just what we were looking for and we’d love to come back!

Fijn verblijf net buiten Nice

Vakantiewoning is prachtig gelegen, net buiten de drukte van Nice. De kinderen, en wij zelf ook, hebben ons prima vermaakt in de omgeving maar zeker ook an de rust van het zwembad. Aan faciliteiten geen gebrek en de vriendelijke eigenaren Quinten en Liz mogen zeker ook niet onvermeld blijven. Zeker een aanrader!
