Cottage at Sunny Day

We stayed in early May, so didn't get to enjoy the lake, other than the serene view from the many windows in the house. Bird lovers will enjoy the many, many birds observable through the sliding glass doors and audible constantly. Beds were very comfortable. Kitchen was well-stocked with what we needed to cook our meals. We found plenty of places to hike. We found the description on vrbo a little confusing because the house next door was also pictured. We figured it out, though.

Serene location on small lake for a reunion weekend

Newtown is a special New England village that was founded in 1705. This 3-bedroom house on a small lake was perfect for 6 of us to relax in between family activities around the area. Best for folks who can handle steps. Gorgeous main, open living space takes up entire main floor where we played games, watched tv, cooked, ate and read. Recommended.

Great place!

This property was very new and clean. It had everything you needed. Every room was comfortable and had its own TV. The open layout of the main floor made for great socializing and eating, and the 180 views of the frozen lake (in February) were beautifully serene. Would definitely come again and maybe next time in the summer! Thanks you for sharing this lovely property.

Wonderful, Relaxing Stay

I spent a week at the Cottage at Sunny Day in mid January and it was just what I was looking for. I wanted a quiet, relaxing retreat in a beautiful location. The house was immaculate and very comfortable. Everything was provided, and there was a great fireplace and a beautiful view of Lake Taunton. Jenna and Tony were very nice and easy to deal with and made sure that everything was perfect. It would be a great stay at any time, but would be especially nice in the warm weather with direct access to the Lake. I intend to return and I would certainly recommend the Cottage at Sunny Day for anyone looking for a great getaway. I would also recommend Jenna and Tony as great Premier Hosts.

Restful and restorative

We loved the view of the frozen lake. The fireplace was very cozy and really made the room. Great location with some nice restaurants. Overall and very beautiful and comfortable home.

Lovely lake views

A lovely place but a lot of stairs - there is a broken stair lift for the upstairs bedroom - no bathroom on the main floor so for anyone with knee etc issues, this is not the place to stay- beautiful home and location - fully equipped kitchen and comfortable stay otherwise - perfect for warmer months with lake activities

The cottage was a perfect backdrop for our Cousins Weekend!

The place has stunning views from just about every window. Taunton Lake is so serene and the surrounding area has so much local charm. The beds were comfy and the amenities were abundant. I hope to be back again someday.

Beautiful lake house

Property and home are beautiful. The larger home on adjacent property (Sunny Day) is close and if a larger group is staying there can be loud in the tranquil setting during the day. Otherwise, the setting is beautiful and the house was perfect for our family of 6 (3 couples). We enjoyed the kayak, paddle board, fishing, evening fire pit and views from upstairs deck and downstairs patio.

Great Stay

The house was in great shape on the inside, plenty of room. The lower level is a bit damp, but overall the place has lots of amenities. Lots of options for paddleboards and kayaks. The outside needs some updating and a power wash on the deck would go a long way. The lake was lovely and Newtown has lots of great options for everything. The management company responded very quickly to all my messages.

Lakeside Paradise

This house was perfect for 5 adults, an infant, and 2 dogs. The kitchen was well equipped and conducive to making meals, with inside and outside eating options. Great views of the lake from everywhere in the house. One downside was access to the lake. Fairly treacherous getting into the water, although we managed and of course easier for the dogs to jump in from the dock. Also, very close and open to neighbors on one side. We were fortunate to have friendly people in the house next door.

Beautiful and relaxing

We had a great week at this cottage. It has a beautiful layout and everything you could possibly need is already there. The view is peaceful and pretty and when we returned home, we were truly relaxed. We had a wonderful time.

Great place

Overall a great place to stay. Great space and nice furnishings inside and out. I gave cleanliness a 4 because the outside decking was really dirty. Although there was access to the lake and dock, it was very dangerous and needs repair.

Peaceful and Relaxing

The property is as wonderful as the pictures show. The kitchen was well stocked with everything needed for us to prepare many meals. We ate outside on the deck overlooking the lake. There is plenty of room to spread out. Three full baths were perfect for us and our adult children. Only downside was there is no bathroom on the main living floor- not a problem for us but it could be if you are traveling with someone who has issues with stairs. It was unanimous we will stay here again.

Great Location

Our family enjoyed our stay at the Cottage during our recent visit to CT for our son's college graduation. The views of the lake from the living room, the deck and the patio with fire pit are great and very peaceful. The kitchen was nicely outfitted with everything needed to cook and prepare meals. The only drawback was that there were no closets or chest of drawers in the (2) basement bedrooms. There was no place to unpack and hang our clothes for the 4 days we were there; the only closet was in the loft bedroom which had a large walk-in. Overall, a nice play to stay for a family when in the Newton area.

Tranquility

The pictures did not do this awesome place justice. My friends and I were pleasantly surprised with how beautiful and serene this home is. Everything was thoughtfully and meticulously done. The attention to details was not lost on us. Thank you for your efforts!!!
