Perfect for us and the dogs

Cosy, clean comfortable cottage. Lovely stay apart from the weather. Very windy (yellow warning active) causing some chimney noise. But all in all a very enjoyable stay.

Lovely property. Lovely location

The house was perfect. Very homely and had everything you need for a home from home. The location is perfect . Lovely sea walks. Quiet village with a busy tea shop and smashing pub/ restaurant Everyone really friendly. Lots of interesting tourist spots a short drive away. I cannot recommend this enough for a nice relaxing break

Comfortable house in a quiet small costal town

We stayed four days in June during a visit to England and Scotland with our 14-yr-old granddaughter. She was enchanted by the cottage, a row house, comfortable and renovated to a high standard, with a well-equipped kitchen. The walled back garden with a teak table and chairs is protected from the wind, and a small solarium off the kitchen is comfortable on chilly days. We did enjoy being outdoors during the long June daylight. Garlieston is quiet indeed. The bay empties during low tide. There is a pub, a tea room, and a small grocery attached to the village gas station. A costal path extends northward and southward on the bay for several miles, and is suitable for a morning trail run. The owner has provided much information about local history, and his clan's seat, nearby Sorbie Tower, is worth a visit.

We had a lovely week at The Cottage.

We had a lovely week at The Cottage. It had eveything we needed for a relaxing break away from it all. A very well equipped kitchen really helped being away from home. The location was perfect for us, our 6 yr old son loved being so close to the beach and there was plenty of walks to keep us occupied without having to drive anywhere. The Cottage was warm and cosy and the log fire was a lovely treat. The only thing we wish we'd known before we arrived, due to having an alergy to them, is that the duvets and pillows are all down filled. Review independently collected and verified by Reevoo

We loved our stay at The Cottage. It is an absolute gem and has a lovely family feel about it. Equipped with everything we needed. Especially in the kitchen. We also loved the log fire at night to relax. There were lovely walks right on your doorstep. It is also a great base for visiting different parts of Dumfries & Galloway. A lovely relaxing family holiday. We had our two teenagers & 10 year old with us. I honestly thought they would be bored. I was wrong. They absolutely loved it. Happy return to Dumfries and Galloway

Wonderful, comfortable property retaining original features. Very clean and ideal for canine companion with enclosed garden and beautiful beach yards away. Perfect holiday destination.

The Cottage at Garlieston was beautifully presented, and thoughtfully equipped with everything we needed for a relaxing holiday, even providing towels, food bowls and toys for the dog. This is a super house.

This is a super house. It's amazingly spacious, comfortable, well equipped and only a stones throw from a lovely beach. The only very minor drawback we found was that the downstairs bathroom is extremely small. The shop at Garlieston is very rudimentary, but there is an excellent Co-op and butchers shop at Wigtown, a short drive away. We had a very nice holiday here and would be more than happy to return.

Helpful caretaker when we had an issue with smoke alarm battery came to our rescue very swiftly. Would recommed and definitely like to return. Thanks!

Our second stay at The Cottage as we loved it so much last year.

Our second stay at The Cottage as we loved it so much last year. Total relaxation, a stone's throw from a sandy beach and coast walks plus a great local (dog friendly) pub. If that is all you want, Garlieston is the village for you. The cottage has a homely feel, yet is spotlessly clean and well equipped with good wifi. The village even had a visit from Charles and Camilla during the week. We look forward to returning once again.
