Amazing stay!!!
The property was amazing and huge! Had everything we could possibly want. The swimming pool and hot tub was a great addition as well as the ping pong table/football field/basketball hoop! Hosts were friendly and answered any queries we had very quickly! Had such a great time that we're already looking to book again next year! A definite 10/10!

Loved the property. Had everything we needed. Great location to get away with family. Swimming pool, hot tub, projector and play areas all great. Just a little disappointed with the cleanliness and some updates need to be done.

Spacious and very well equipped 3 story house
This house proved to be an idea l place to spend a few days with grandparents, children and grandchildren. The facilities were fantastic and allowed us to enjoy our holiday despite very poor weather. The warm enclosed swimming pool enabled the grand children to improved their swimming skills and the movie screen and projector allowed the adults to catch up on some movies. I hope we get chance to return before long.

Great Easter Getaway

Another wonderful stay at the Old Nursery
This is the third time we have stayed at this wonderful property and we will definitely return again. The place is perfectly set up for families with lots to keep children entertained including a fantastic outside space. Our three boys loved the swimming pool which is a real highlight of the property. I enjoyed swimming lengths too as the pool temperate is perfect and the setting stunning with views across to the hills. You won’t regret booking here. Whilst no one wanted to leave the house as there is plenty to do during a short stay, the children had a magical time at Shaldon Zoo and the adults enjoyed the coffee and delicious food at Ode. We also need the recipe for the rocky road that was waiting for us on arrival! Thanks for a wonderful stay, the Ogilvie family.

Staycation in October
A much needed rest and relaxation holiday in October half term. Even with dodgy English weather we had an amazing time. Exploring the local area with lots of swims and time on the climbing frame. With chilled out times in the cinema room.

Week away
Property was great, had everything to cater for our party of 16. Bedroom layout suited perfectly. Amenities and equipment on property as stated . Made very welcome by hosts and greeted with home made scones which were so yummy.

Summer extended family holiday
12 of us but could have been 16 plus. Loads of room, beautifully decorated, fitted out and equipped. Gorgeous indoor pool and hot tub got plenty of action. Plenty to play at outside - table tennis, footy, climbing frame. It’s just the problem of negotiating the narrow lanes.

Perfect house, not so perfect weather!
The weather meant we fully appreciated all the space, comfort and facilities in this attractive house. We enjoyed the light, airy rooms, the tranquil views and the peaceful location. We messed around in the warm pool, relaxed in the hot tub, battled the wind to play table tennis and shared long convivial meals at the vast kitchen table. We recommend eating at the local pub or, for a special occasion, at The Elephant in Torquay, visiting Buckfast Abbey and the wonderful Babbacombe Model Village. Thanks to Steve, our charming helpful host and to Charlotte for the scones, jam and clotted cream.

The perfect family holiday.
What a fabulous property for a big family gathering. The bedroom & bathroom arrangements were perfect for us. The 7 grandchildren had a blast & were hardly out of the swimming pool. The football pitch was a great venue for a sports afternoon. With so much to entertain the children there was plenty of r&r time for the adults! The weather couldn't have been better. Thank you Steve & Charlotte for a wonderful holiday.

We booked our stay to celebrate a big “0” birthday milestone. Amazing house , more than enough room for 17 of us. Well equipped and spotlessly clean. Ages varied from 11 years old any everyone found more than enough to keep them entertained.

Family Break
A terrific stay. The photos don’t really do the property justice. We spent a long weekend here and were blessed with fine weather. Sun all day on the rear patio, and watching it set on the decking out front!. Didn’t need to stray far from home as we had everything you could wish for. 15 adults from 21 to 86 had enough room to space out and have some quiet time if needed. Would highly recommend if you want some quality time away with your family.

A beautiful house is a beautiful location with a homely feel. Great facilities, the pool is a lovely feature. The owners were wonderful and always on hand to answer any questions. We had a wonderful time and will definitely be back in the future.

Wonderful property with something for everyone
Beautifully presented house, immaculately clean and very well equipped. Superb facilities for all ages and extremely comfortable, with lots of very comfy beds and spotless bathrooms. Catering facilities were fantastic , loads of crockery, cutlery and glasses and two dishwashers!!! Extensive cooking and eating facilities inside and out, amazing views and a swimming pool plus hot tub, what more could you want? Owners were super helpful and obliging, our weekend away went without a hitch and we'd love to come back soon.

80 th Birthday trip
We had a lovely family get together for our mother’s 80th birthday. Her grandchildren travelled from Berlin, Brighton, Bath and Exeter to stay at the property and although the weather was shocking, we had a truly marvelous time. Hot tub and pool fabulous, wonderful sociable spaces just sorry the garden was rained off for us. Thank you so much.

The perfect property
We had a wonderful time at the Old Nursery to celebrate my 40th birthday and our son’s 10th birthday with family and friends. The property has everything you could possibly need and there is tons of space. Excellent communication from the owners throughout. The kids loved the garden, climbing frame, basketball net, table tennis, cinema room, fabulous pool and hot tub. We will definitely be back and have already recommended the property to family and friends.

Superb house and facilities in a beautiful location
We were a family group of mixed ages, ranging from 10 - 80. All enjoyed this wonderful property. The pool, hot tub and cinema room were a particular hit, as were the walk to the local pub, The Church House Inn, for Sunday lunch. Also the coastal walk from the Thatched Inn (a brave few going in the sea...in February!).

Family Get Together
What a wonderful place for an extended family get together. the house was well provided for and the on-site facilities gave plenty of entertainment when the weather was inclement.. There is plenty to do in the local area. For our family the swimming pool was a real bonus. we recommend the Crabshack at newton Abbot for a superb meal and also the Church Inn in Stokeinteignhead for good food and generous portions. we would all happily return if the we are able.

An amazing place
We had the most amazing trip to the old nursery. The communication and hospitality was first class and the cream tea for arrival was a really lovely touch. The cinema room, pool and hot tub was a real luxury and big hit with the children and the views and outside setting was just stunning. Thank you for having us we can’t wait to come back :-)

Fantastic Retreat
Had a fabulous stay. The photographs do not do the accommodation justice. Lots of space for the children and dogs to run around outside, great pool and hot tub. Inside was very spacious and very well maintained. Lots of room for everyone. A throughly enjoyable weekend.

Perfect family getaway
There were 19 of us ranging from 2 to 89. The house was wonderful with everything we wanted. Pool, hot tub, childrens play area and table tennis were an added bonus as it meant we didn’t feel need to go out all time. The local pub was lovely and there is a fab little cafe with beach below as a reward after a 2 mile coastal stroll. Coombe Cellars is also great place to eat as it’s on the estuary and they easily catered for our large party. The host was also welcoming and the scones, jam and cream a lovely touch after our various journeys

Just perfect!
This was our first time away together since the arrival of 6 grandchildren and the location, facilities, room configuration, number of bathrooms and space, both indoor and outdoor, was just perfect. In fact, we've probably set the bar a bit high as there must be very few properties which would accommodate 17 of us so well, so it looks like we'll be back again! Charlotte and Steve really care about their guests, ensuring that they have the best experience including a Devon cream scone for everyone.

50th Wedding Anniversary Family Holiday
The house is everything it says it is. It has all you need and more. We were 3 families and dogs. The layout of the 8 bedrooms allows different families, or ages, to have their own space too.. Lovely enclosed grounds and views. Swimming Pool and Jacuzzi well used. Thoughtful touches like homemade scones, jam, and cream awaiting our arrival. - very much appreciated. Lots to do in the area - but the one thing we had not appreciated is just how hilly the area is (google maps doesnt reflect this!). Wide selection of nice pubs within under two miles. Recommended - you won't be disappointed.

Review of the old nursery Stokeinteignhead
Fabulous setting with gorgeous views and lovely peaceful surroundings. Village was picturesque. Maidencombe close by was awesome. The pool and hot tub were very clean and made our stay even more enjoyable. Garden could have been a but more cared for and disappointed there was no trampoline as advertised but this didn't detract from our experience. Would definitely like to stay again. The weekend wasn't long enough to enjoy everything on offer. Sorry about leaving the balloons. There wasn't room in the car to take them home and hoped they could have been used for next holiday makers. The host responded quickly to all the many questions I sent him and was really helpful.

A beautiful property with a pretty garden and countryside views.
The house is of a high specification with modern facilities. The terrace, swimming pool and hot tub are great features with views of the countryside. It is very well equipped and the configuration of bedrooms and bathrooms suits different groups. The owner is very friendly and welcoming. The house is very clean and comfortable and we had a wonderful stay. I would definitely recommend this property to anyone wishing to stay in a beautiful house set in the Devon countryside.

Wow!
Have just returned from a long weekend with family (14 adults and 6 children) for my husbands 30th birthday and it was everything and more we could’ve hoped for! The house is absolutely amazing (even better in person) and is so well equipped and safe for children (the climbing frame for the children was a lovely unexpected addition and went down a treat!). So much for everyone to do (ranging from 2-80) and plenty of space too! Lovely little touch to arrive to some scones cream and jam after a long journey (they were delicious!) The perfect property for the best weekend - thank you so much for having us.

Perfect for a family get together
We stayed over Easter weekend and had a fabulous time. The house is amazing with wonderful views of the surrounding countryside. The photos don’t do it justice. Kids and adults loved the swimming pool and hot tub, the cinema room was perfect for the older kids to hang out in and the garden was huge - great for family games and an Easter egg hunt. Would highly recommend it for family or friends get together.

16 of us had a fabulous stay in this lovely house. There are spectacular views of the lovely countryside. The house was beautifully furnished and all essentials were there . Steve the host was very helpful when one of our parties car broke down and we needed to store cases for an extra day whilst the car was repaired. Would recommend

Absolutely perfect from start to finish
Myself and 13 other adults stayed at Steve’s lovely property located up a steep and quiet road. The rooms were clean and practical with the single beds that convert to doubles whilst still being comfortable. The weather was awful whilst we were there but that made the warm pool room and hot tub even more appreciated after days out in Dartmoor and the Torquay coast. Everything worked perfectly for the whole holiday and Steve was flexible with our check-out time due to storm Eunice. I couldn’t think of anyway to make our stay any better!

Lovely house
Absolutely lovely house, as described, we have had such a good weekend here with so many memories made. It house is well equipped for all your needs. Lots of space or large groups or people or families. The pool and hot tub were lovely, clean and warm. House had a beautiful outlook over the country side, and the scones and clotted cream on arrival was a lovely touch. We would definitely stay here again and would highly recommend.

Great stay at this lovely house, good entertaining room and kitchen/dining room. 17 of us had a great time. It would of been helpful if we had an instruction manual as we couldn't get the main oven working. Would definitely recommend it.

Lovely house for large groups
Great house with really friendly, helpful owners. We spent a week there for Christmas, 9 adults and 10 children ranging from 1-14. The house was lovely and the pool and hot tub were the icing on the cake during a very rainy week. All the rooms were good sizes (although the twin rooms the beds were on wheels so the little ones struggled to climb on without spinning across the room!) and the communal spaces were beautifully decorated. Thoroughly recommend The Old Nursery, it’s a great getaway.
