Our stay

The house is in a great location. Beautiful view of the ocaen. The house is a little run down, but comfortable. I did need to call about the oven's bottom element not working. Also need steps for the hot.

Great house, view, location

We had a great stay in surprisingly toddler proofed house. Great sleep set up for us parents with a bedroom off the kind bedroom and bath, perfect for toddler parents! And the piano was a huge hit! Lots of time occupied by that. The house is great for huge gatherings. On a massive property overlooking the ocean. Would have been perfect for dogs off leash although ours would have found a way through the bramble onto the highway. The oven was a little unpredictable with temps and time and I wished the pans were anything but teflon. If you’re planning to cook, bring your own cookware/cast iron but that’s just me being picky. Nice fluffy towels, plenty of blankets. Bonus game room we never used but would be ideal for teenager hang out. Hot tub was so hot! Almost too hot? Cant complain about that! Great stay! Will try to book it again for sure. Perfect proximity to Newport and beaches and the aquarium.

Beautiful view

Needs updated. Furnishings are dilapidated. The beds look great but are very uncomfortable to sleep on. The four poster bed has a very firm mattress if you like that type. All others are too old and lacking. We had fun in the living room and on the deck. The hot tub is wonderful.

Great view. Nice house. Needs repairs/updates.

Positives… The view was great! The quiet tucked away property was nice! We enjoyed the fire pit. Large kitchen. Water gets hot fast, and stays hot. Filtered drinking water provided. Early check in allowed. Lots of room for our big family. Negatives… Pull out beds in game room are broken. Pool table is broken. Ping pong table is broken. Water is brown, and has a funny smell. Deck is missing parts of the railing making it unsafe for babies/toddlers, plus the dog was able to jump off the deck due to the broken slats. Neighbor dog kept getting out of his yard and coming into ours trying to start fights with our dog. House is infested with spiders! We probably killed 15 in the house, and there were others we were not able to reach due to the high ceilings.

LOVED the Property!!!

The location, views and layout is PERFECT!! Our family stayed here due to our Daughter’s graduation from OSU….it was the perfect location for our family and dogs. Everything about this property was exactly what we were looking for!

Overwhelming ocean view

Loved our stay, great kitchen. Huge home and grounds area with fantastic ocean view. BUT Dirty floors, bath baseboards dirty, living room rug needed cleaning- too dirty to lay or sit on. No steps for the hot tub?!? Had to use a chair. The back deck railing in desperate need of repair. Wrungs missing and very wobbly and unsafe. Front porch railing covered w spider webs and needs repair too.

Disappointed

I complained because neither of the bath tubs worked. There was little metal flakes coming into the bath tub. From the listing it does not say you have to drive down to the ocean. It made the walk to the beach sound like it was just right at the house. There was things broken so we were not able to enjoy it such as the.pool table and the shelf the pool stick hung on. The TV in the game room didn't even work.the dishes all had to be washed because there was stuff stuck on them.

Beautiful home with amazing views but fell short on cleanliness

We truly enjoyed the time we had here the location and views were amazing! Unfortunately the home is not in the best shape and simply was not clean when we arrived. We had the people who previously stayed there’s stuff left in couches and rooms. Food on the “clean” sheets. Blood on the bathroom door. A dead mouse in the game room. Dirty towels left inside the hot tub. Multiple lights out and half of the living room without power. Even after telling the property management about it all, though they did offer to come take care of the cleaning issues, there was no offer of any concessions to us for dealing with such items. As a property owner myself and a frequent short term rental user this was simply not acceptable after paying premium rates including a cleaning fee that should not have been charged since we had to wash and remake all beds after check-in as well as clean many surfaces that were obviously not cleaned by the crew. I hope the owners can get this place back in shape because it truly had amazing views and the potential to be an amazing property.

Nowhere near beach access

The listing said there was a trail to the beach- not true. There is no trail- it’s a cliff and then HWY 101 must be crossed an then a mile walk down HWY101… We only rented this place so we could go to the beach- it was a complete waste of money.

Needs some TLC

The location and privacy are great. The size of the home and the rooms are great. Just don’t go with great expectations to get what you pay for. There are numerous things that need fixed; decking, rain gutters, outlets, lighting, beds/futons, kitchen chairs, etc. I wish the owners would use all the money I spent to invest in the home for future renters.

Somerville Escape

Major repairs must be done to the deck. It has broken boards and holes in it. The beds in the game room (fold out) are both broken, whereas the beds off the master are little more than army cots. Trash cans were full when we got there. Kitchen island tiles are broken and SHARP. View is great, but not as close to the beach as we thought. House needs serious attention.

Beautiful view

The cleaning was still being done upon arrive, we had to wait 30 min in driveway. The cleaning of the house sucked, found chewed up candy on stand in living room trash underbed in king room. The house is very well used ( everything, or everywhere you touch or look it broken or missing) don't open curtains the rods are just sitting there, the tiles in kitchen are broken, the dishwasher leaks, the water is gross, the pink room is too pink! Drywall in hall bath is not done, the porch need replaced rotten, hot tub I had to fill and clean out, the down stairs everything is broken pool table, all games are missing something or just thrown together, both hide a beds bars are broken, one bed is molded. Front entry needs work stones are falling off. I'm sure I missed some but the view was beautiful and the land was amazing

Nice vacation home

This is a nice home on great lot with a fantastic view. However the deck is a safety concern, there’s a couple places that I almost fell through due to rotting boards. Overall, it’s a nice place, just needs some TLC.

Beautiful oversized home away from home

The property is as beautiful as the pictures. Be aware the water is very high in tannins so has a very very strong sour smell. It was too difficult to brush our teeth and drink it and the smell is everywhere water touches. On the bedding, on the kitchenware, near the plumbing, etc. however, the homeowners have offered a complimentary water cooler with hot and cold tap. Bringing water bottles isn’t absolutely crucial because of this but may be helpful. Overall my family had a wonderful weekend visiting in the large living room while the kids played in the game room (which is separated with a heavy door blocking loud child squeals and giggles). This will be a trip we’ll forever cherish.

Not a horrible time

Location of house is good. Close to stores, restaurants, and places to visit. Great views. Plenty of things to keep you busy. I was not impressed with the amount of cosmetic issues that should be addressed. Broken tile, dishwasher not fully installed, and things not fully installed on the walls. There are some safety concerns with having small children. Besides that we enjoyed our time at this house.

We enjoyed the spacious house on a secluded large lot overlooking the Ocean (over Hwy 101💙)

The house had beautiful ocean views from the huge expanse of windows and the large deck. It was clean and well stocked. It was functional but in need of some minor repairs (ex: loose door knob, cracked & loose tiles). We enjoyed the hot tub and would have liked to use the brand new bbq but couldn’t find any matches or lighter. Overall our family had a wonderful, relaxing weekend at the beach. We couldn’t have asked for better weather!

Great location, but house is in need of maintenance and deep cleaning

I wouldn't stay here again. The house wasn't cleaned and really needs a deep cleaning. We spent about 2 hours cleaning, after the cleaner left and was there an extra hour. The owner needs to repair the back patio and broken tiles throughout the house. Some one is going to get hurt. They advertise water is supplied, but it wasn't. They advertize a wii, pool table and ping pong. There were no Wii games or remotes, 1 pool cue and table it in sad shape and there were no ping pong balls.
