The house was perfect for our family of five’s new year getaway. It was very clean, the kitchen was well equipped, there was plenty of room, and the location was great. The main living area has a gas fireplace which was really nice in the mornings and evenings. The proximity to Nye Beach and downtown was ideal. I would say the only drawback was that it is managed by a vacation rental company, Vacasa. It seemed a bit disjointed communicating between Vrbo and Vacasa. Also, you need to set up a separate account with Vacasa. Not a huge deal, but a far cry from dealing simply with the owner of the home—which we now know we much prefer. But, would we return to the house and stay again some other time? Yes, probably.

House super clean! Bedding we washed all but one room! Would recommend changing out upstairs bed room under padding though! Pretty stained up! Urine stain and looks like a blood stain! Will definitely recommend to family friends!

great spot, nice house, Be aware! Everything is up a flight of stairs, which when you are staying for a week with suitcases, coolers and boxes of food and supplies is strenuous. Also, No empty cabinets for our food we brought. Also, the cheapest low life grill I have ever had to use. Upgrade that please, for the price it should be better.

Check-in was easy. Code sent the day of. Kitchen was well stocked. Only suggestion is replacing some of the baking pans. Rooms were as described and matched pictures. We only used two. Beds were comfortable for everyone. Would be nice to have hairdryer in each bathroom but we made it work. Barbecue was functional. My husband had to replace propane tank (a spare was available). Deck was nice for 2 people to sit out on. Location is walking distance to Nye beach and shops. Very convenient. Beach was fairly quiet and we walked it every evening.

Quite nice and convenient

Wonderful home to stay in with plenty of room for the 4-5 of us. Very comfortable sleeping arrangements with a full bath and closets in each bedroom !Slept very well as the house and neighborhood are quite quiet. Only negative comment and this is a big one, the front door keypad that needs a code to enter the house seems to have a dead or dying battery in it. We were practically locked out of the house a couple of times which could have been very disappointing…were it not for the responsiveness of the VRBO staff. So… thank you VRBO staff!

Pretty Good House

Cleanliness is the top thing I look for in a house. This one was rated high, but I was unimpressed with what the hosts consider clean. First of all, the walls, doors and baseboards need to be apart of the cleaning routine. They had not been touched for awhile when we were there. Second, there was this lingering smell as you went upstairs to the main floor that I was never able to identify. It smelled like Indian food (which I love but don’t want to smell for an entire week). I suspect of the carpets were cleaned it would fix the problem. Anyway, I would suggest to the hosts to really reconsider their cleaning routine. The house had a nicely stocked kitchen but only provided hand soap and 1 oz bottles of shampoo and conditioner as far as toiletries are concerned. We had to run to the store for body wash, lotion, etc. The house is a short walk from the beach and a lot of great restaurants. We enjoyed the constant view of the ocean from the house too. The neighbors were quiet too. Overall, this is a good place to stay. It just needs a really good deep clean.

Prime location - Centally located, NYE Beach, Lighthouse, Aquarium & Newport Harbor. Relaxing & Easy … Exactly what we we’re looking for in a “beach” property. Would definitely recommend & would book once again with no hesitation.

Relaxation and clean air

We had a great stay. The location was perfect, although the road was busy with traffic because it leads to the beach access. You could see a bit of the ocean and definitely hear it. It was great to sit oou on the upper deck to relax and kisten to the siunds. Very relaxing.

Easy access to get to beach and restaurants. Nice bedrooms/bathrooms. Not the cleanest VRBO we’ve stayed, entryway inside littered with tree debris/sand. Staircase carpet very stained. Hair in the bathrooms. Miscellaneous items broken (door jams) Dishes in the dishwasher (already washed). The kitchen is not conducive for doing your own cooking, cookware is in terrible condition and cheap. Plenty of dishes though for serving up/sharing take-out. All of the bed linens smelled of strong detergent/fabric softener. It was nauseating and very irritable for our skin. Not sure why it was used when there was “free and clear” detergent with the washer and dryer. Appreciated having access to the washer and dryer and garage. Overall a nice place and we would stay again. Although we would probably bring our own cookware and call ahead to see if they could wash the linens with scent free detergent.

The Newport House was great

It’s a comfortable, well equipped home. Each bedroom has it’s own bathroom which is great for a stay with two families. Beach access is a 10 minute walk or short drive to Nye Beach turnaround. The ocean is only a few blocks away, but the cliffs are too steep for access nearby. We had an enjoyable two night stay. Better attention to cleaning would make this a better location. The floors, stairs, and stove all had crumbs and hair. Also hair in two of the tubs, and the downstairs toilets were very dirty under the seats.

We loved this house and it had everything we needed for our stay. My kids loved it so much, they asked if we could just hang out at the house instead of going to the beach. We loved the rooms and all the couches were especially awesome!
