The apartment has off street parking. Short walk to beach and Cliff walks. Apartment is very comfortable and I napped several times. Beautiful flowers outside and I saw Hummingbirds. The shower was hot. You can tell Lou cares. I will be back for a longer stay next time.

The cottage was everything we hoped it would be plus so much more. If you’re coming to Newport consider this property as your home base. It’s conveniently located close to all the major attractions. Plus it’s an excellent value, with all the features you will need to completely enjoy your stay.

Perfectly located, we didn’t have to drive once during our 6-day stay. Beach is walking distance, RIPTA bus took us to attractions in town, and we bicycled everywhere else (including the festival grounds)! The cottage was big enough for the two of us, kitchen well equipped and plenty of outdoor space for grilling and dining. We highly recommend it!

Lovely stay in a perfect location

Lou is a fantastic host. He’s kind, communicative and accommodating. I was traveling for work, photographing a wedding in Newport. The cottage was not overly fussy but was perfectly stocked with thoughtful touches and the bed was SO comfy. I loved the location for the ease with which I could get to town, but the removed quiet as well. I loved walking to the closest beach and Cliff Walk to take advantage of a perfect blue sky in the morning. Lou was available and present but also respectful of my privacy and peace. I couldn’t be more pleased with my time at Lou’s and will stay there again when I book my next Newport wedding.

Great location for visiting Newport Mansions

This is a great location - within short walking distance for visiting Breakers and other Newport mansions and Cliff Walk. It is a short drive to the downtown wharf area. Nice quiet neighborhood. The host Lou was very friendly and responsive. We found the VRBO listing to be vey accurate.

Wonderful “home base” for Newport vacation

From the time we checked in until we checked out, we enjoyed our stay. The apartment was clean, the bed comfortable, and the shower hot. Lou, our very responsive host, asked us to let him know if we needed anything. However, everything we needed was already provided. We enjoyed several of his friendly recommendations. This place is perfect for a couple; and, we highly recommend booking. If we are ever in Newport again, we would book this garden apartment without hesitation.

Perfect location to see all of the mansions!

The property is 1 block off of Bellevue where all of the mansions are! We are so glad that we stayed here as opposed to downtown because we could walk everywhere and there was a lot of traffic due to Labor Day Weekend. This rental was well equipped for the two of us and was very comfortable! Lou was fantastic (friendly and had good advice)! We highly recommend and we will be back!

Newport Getaway

Our stay in Newport, Rhode Island was delightful. The cottage has every amenity a guest could ask for and is immaculate. The location is perfect for walking to the beach and the amazing Cliff Walk that hugs the coastline. The cottage is close to the vibrant downtown area, and beautiful state parks for hiking. This was our first visit to Rhode Island and we loved the climate, people, and diverse options as first-time visitors. We would rent the Newport Getaway cottage again. It is a hidden gem.
