Inside, Velvet Sand II features a bright, organic living room and a chic kitchen and dining space. Both bedrooms feature a flatscreen TV, while two separate bathrooms ensure everyone has space and privacy. A sandy trail to Newport Beach is just at the end of the street, while all the excitement of the nearby pier and marina is a few minutes drive away. Newport is waiting with shoreline, retail, dining, and seafood. Experience it all from White Crab!

    Surf's up! This coastal city has the largest recreational harbor on the West Coast and is known for its amazing beaches, parks, restaurants, and outdoor shopping centers. The living is easy here and it invites you to ride bikes along the boardwalk and watch pros surf some of the biggest swells in Southern California at The Wedge. Take the ferry to Balboa Island for some of the best seafood in the area and to visit an old-school amusement park with a historic Ferris wheel.

    - Please note that the Air Conditioning in this home is remote-controlled mini splits, NOT central air with a thermostat.
    - This unit is located on the bottom floor, and there may be guests staying in the upstairs unit during your stay. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.
    - This unit is also available as a buyout of two units (the unit upstairs) for a total of 7 bedrooms, the buyout is called Velvet Sand Buyout.
    - This unit does not have rooftop access.
    - Please note our occupancy includes an additional two beyond bed count. Trifold floor mattresses and additional linens can be provided upon request.
    - This home allows pets for a fee. If undisclosed pets are brought into the home without AvantStay's approval there is a fine of $500 per pet.
    - There is also a sleeper sofa in the living area for extra sleeping arrangements.
    - Bathtub jacuzzi jets in the downstairs tub are not functional.
    - The dryer and dishwasher are located in the garage.
    - The reservation holder must be at least 25 and must be present for the entire stay.

    This is a smoke-free property. Violation of the no-smoking policy will result in forfeiture of the security deposit, a $300 smoking fee, and liability for any fire or property damage costs.

    As part of our commitment to being good neighbors, occupancy limits and quiet hours (9pm-8am) are strictly enforced. No speakers or sound systems will be provided for use in our properties. Violation of any noise ordinances will be subject to fines that can reach up to $10,000 per violation.

    Events or parties are not allowed without prior written approval and an additional fee. Any unauthorized parties or events will be shut down and a fine will be assessed. Please inquire for more information about our event policies and fees.

    There is nothing more important to us at AvantStay than the health, safety, and experience of our guests & staff. We've enhanced our cleaning and sanitation protocols and are taking extra care to disinfect all surfaces between reservations with hospital-grade disinfecting solutions.

    As a reminder, we do work with 3rd party vendors to maintain the property, and although we adhere to the strictest CDC guidelines and advise all contractors to wear PPE equipment, we can not always enforce. We strongly advise guests to please deny access if any vendors fail to meet and adhere to these standards.

    IDs will be requested for verification after booking. All bookings over 30 days require a security deposit.

We enjoyed the lodging as well as the proximity to the beach. One slight drawback, was the noise from the upstairs guests, not that they were loud, just them walking was a bit bothersome. Great visit, and next time we will be getting the upstairs unit!

Convenient stay

The place was clean and in good shape. Telling from the images we had expected to have another apartment in the same building, but that was not the case. However, we felt really comfortable in our place and the service was excellent: We had an issue with a toaster and the door lock - and both problems were solved within minutes and super-friendly.

Wonderful Stay in Newport/Huntington

We loved the beach house and it was the perfect location for my daughter's beach volleyball tournaments. Very clean, nice finishes and attention to detail all made for a very enjoyable stay and I'd book again. thank you!

It's a pleasure to be here

Normally I see 5 stars in cleanliness, but this place could be in 10 stars, the cleanest place where I stayed, it is the aspect that my family gives most importance, but this place left us impressed, in addition to the attention of the host, always attentive and in communication with us, the place is super accessible and you can enjoy the beach morning, afternoon and night, because you have it 1 minute away. Beautiful and peaceful place

Velvet Sand II Review

The good stuff: Great location with lots of restaurants and bars between Huntington Beach, Newport Beach, Balboa Island and Laguna Beach! Garage-Can hold a full size truck, electric charging station, washer/dryer, beach chairs. Outdoor shower for after the beach behind the garage. Street parking was also available throughout the day and night. Linens-plenty of them and they were all clean. Kitchen-lots of supplies such as plates, silverware, cups, coffee maker. Fridge is awesome-so cold! Beds-both were comfortable. Appreciated the floor fan for the room as well as the hangers. TV-every room had them. Streaming tv somewhat difficult to figure out but we got it. Proximity to beach-literally a 15sec walk to the beach. Perfect! The shower in the bathroom is giant! The middle of the road: Communication with property manager before the stay was slow. But, during the stay they were pretty responsive. The bad stuff: Noise from 2nd floor-you can hear every footstep from the people above this unit. We reached out to the management company for help with this but it didn’t get better. The Pet Fee was a bit excessive per animal. Toilets need to be updated to elongated toilets way to small for normal size human. The closet door in the queen bed room is off the tracks. The bathtub stopper in the bathroom doesn’t work. Depending on if you’re a light sleeper and what time you go to bed and walk up. The street traffic was semi loud with the windows open.
