This is a fantastic location for a family of four to enjoy a cozy, inviting cottage right near the beach and close to restaurants and stores. Holly & Drew are fantastic hosts and go over and aboveboard to help you with anything you may need. Practically everything you may need for your BEACH STAY is just a hop, skip and leisurely walk away. Starfish Cottage is a hidden 5 star gem.

Amazing!!!

This trip was perfect! We try to visit Newport Beach at least once a year. The home we normally rent wasn’t available. I’m so glad I find this one. It checked all our boxes. The home was in walking distance to all our favorite restaurants, one block from the beach and the owner was super nice! We will definitely be coming back.

Perfect Newport Beach spot

We had the best stay in Newport Beach and loved this place! Host had all the beach gear we needed (umbrella, boogie boards, chairs, and even beach towels!). Close enough to the beach that you can walk back to use the bathroom. Tons of restaurants within walking distance (Sancho’s Tacos was dangerously close!). Loved the K-cups that were supplied, too! Only bummer is street parking, but we never had an issue finding parking. Highly recommend!

Piece of paradise!

The Starfish cottage is great! Holly is a lovely host and pays attention to small details in the house. Kitchen is fully stocked. Beach chairs, small cooler, umbrella, and boogie boards provided. There were bikes but we didn’t use them. Location is just 1 block from the beach, across the street from the grocery store, and walking distance to the pier. We had the perfect getaway for a long weekend!

Fabulous Place!

The Starfish Cottage is a great vacation rental! It is in an ideal location with everything you need within walking distance. The beach is only two blocks away. My communication with the Starfish Cottage owner was exceptional. They were very helpful and gracious. We have stayed at the Starfish Cottage two summers and hopefully will return next year as well. I highly recommend it.

Wonderful stay

The Starfish cottage is so cute. The location is one block from beach and within walking distance to shopping and restaurants. This has to be one of the cleanest VRBOs I have rented. The street is rather busy as it is a straight shot to a public beach access but it did not disrupt our stay. We enjoyed having morning coffee on front porch and watching people. The half front door was unique as the weather was perfect for open windows. We appreciated Holly’s communication and generosity. We will definitely consider staying here in the future.

Our stay at the Starfish Cottage was fantastic. The Cottage has upgraded kitchen and bathroom. The location was amazing with everything you could want within easy walking distance. We plan to stay there again next summer! I highly recommend the Starfish Cottage.

Exceptional stay!

We loved the cottage! Holly met us upon arrival and gave us some tips. The cottage was perfectly clean and had thoughtful touches including both coffee and tea, to go cups, pens and the like. We loved the location so close to the beach, grocery store and restaurants. We hope to return again soon!

Beyond Expectations

Over the past 8 years we have stayed at dozens of VRBO locations across the country. The STARFISH is at the top of the chart. First, the beach-bay location is perfect. Toes in the sand. Lunch on the bay. Off the rails walkability. Second, the actual cottage is very comfortable and amazingly quiet for a Balboa location. Finally, Hollie is an awesome host. No item is overlooked. And she is readily available. This was our second stay and we will be back!

Perfectly Magical

Our stay here was absolutely perfect!! Walking distance to everything, grocery store, restaurants, boardwalk, beach, pier…everything!! Holly was amazing, met us at the front door (even saved a parking space for us!) went through everything about the house and amenities…made sure we were comfortable and all set! Everything we needed was there…even beach chairs towels and an umbrella. There was plenty of parking-which was my biggest concern but it wasn’t ever a problem. The street was clean, safe and everyone was so friendly!! I will absolutely be back very very soon!! 10/10 would definitely recommend 💕💕

Great weekend getaway

What a wonderful cottage! The location was excellent close to restaurants, beach, store, and activities. Holly was an amazing host giving us lots of suggestions of where to go and activities.
