Mixed Bag

This is a well maintained but old property with a 2nd story that is beautifully done. If you need the downstairs bedroom it is much smaller, older and darker. Unfortunately, that is where we stayed. The rest of the family loved their upstairs rooms. The kitchen is a good size but could use a refresh. The living room is a nice size but could use a refresh. The location is terrific.

Nice beach cottage that was comfortable and well-equipped. Also located roughly mid-way between the shops and restaurants, and the ferry, and about six houses from the water. No A/C, but the weather was perfect and it wasn’t needed. Thanks for a great week away!

Fabulous location

The house size and location cannot be beat. Close to the water and shops on adorable Balboa Island. The room configuration and bathroom for each bedroom make it an ideal stay for friends or family. The living room has ample seating and a great big cozy gas fireplace for Fall and Winter stays. Private courtyard with dining table is great and open porch in front to hangout too. The downsides were stained rugs, horrible smell from kitchen faucet, sink and dishwasher. Not sure if house specific or the area but I don’t remember the smell from other stays on Balboa. It was chilly, so we had to turn on the heat and furnace was super dusty smelling. The house was ‘vrbo’ clean but could use a deep clean for dust and surfaces.

Perfect Island Home

This home is perfection. Larger than expected and every room is decorated in a clean beachy vibe. Bikes were a big plus. Front patio perfect for the six of us. Neighbors were incredibly nice. The locks were easy and very convenient. Quick note: Someone needs to take trash can out to the alley on trash day. They were overflowing. Thank you for having us. We will be back!

Fabulous beach house!

We had a lovely stay at this beautiful home on Balboa Island. The property manager, Jordan, was responsive to what we needed. Beds and bath were clean, comfy and updated. I would definitely stay here again. It is just a few steps to the beach and there were even beach cruisers for us to ride over on the Newport boardwalk. A perfect place!

Balboa Island visit

We really enjoyed the size of the house. The rooms were large and the living and dining rooms could seat a lot of people. The bathrooms were nice. Linens and towels were comfortable and clean. Suggestions we would like to make: The kitchen needs a really deep cleaning the drawers, drawer organizers and cupboards had crumbs in them. The is no electrical cover on the outlet by the front door. One of the lights in the stairwell is burned out. We found dishes, silverware, pots and pans that were not put away clean. It would have been nice to have some plates that could be put in the microwave - the plastic ones cannot. There was a coffee maker, but no coffee filters. We have stayed in previous properties that supplied aluminum foil, plastic cling wrap, kleenex, napkins, etc. We had to buy all of that. Also useful would have been storage containers with lids (like glass ones). Jordan was fantastic! He brought us paper towels, a brush to clean the grill, hand towels for the kitchen (there was only one there), and he fixed the TV so we could wash it. He was very friendly and very responsive. The girls (all teenagers) really enjoyed the bikes. Paddle boards would have been fun to have. All in all, we love our stay. We would come back again!

Charming Beach feel

Overall very comfortable. Only concern was no extra sheets for Master...Jordan brought some but the house was set up as though we were staying just a week, not three. No can opener ever found, and some cooking gear not real clean and terribly disorganized. We would come again, but it's more house than we need and a bit pricey as compared to others on the island.
