Our family of 5 had a wonderful time celebrating the new year on Balboa Island. The home is in a perfect location, set back from the main Balboa Island street which helps keep traffic and parking manageable while still in walking distance to everything.The home itself is very well appointed and the owner has thought of everything from lighting to toiletries. We VRBO a lot and haven't seen many little touches that this home includes. It was also VERY clean. The home is small and old, as are most rentals on the Island.There were plenty of towels and the kitchen had everything we needed. Beds were super comfortable too (even the couch). If I was forced to "complain" about anything, maybe the pillows could be replaced. But I am confident that if we would have asked, they would have sent some over. Skip was extremely communicative throughout the entire process and we had the pleasure of meeting the owner while we were there.A note about Balboa Island. This is a quaint beach location that might not be suitable for everyone. The homes are extremely close together (not a lot of privacy) and traffic and parking can be difficult (this home does have a wonderful garage with new washer and dryer for your use). Which means that you hear and see the neighbors regularly, and you share the streets with everyone. The neighbors are usually wonderful and we are familiar with the area so we knew what to expect. We loved staying in the pink house and are planning to stay again.
