Disappointing

Firstly the photos are way better than it actually is. It’s very run down. The furniture was dirty and disgusting. The shower is leaking into the next level through the light above the dining table. No coffee or tea provided. The cleanliness was average. The internet wasn’t working. Finally figured out power had shorted, probably due to the water leak through the bathroom. Not a great start to have to find the power switchboard and fix given the price we paid. The only good thing was the beds were comfortable

Good House. Good location.

This is a large house very close to the ocean. If you are looking for a really high-end property this isn’t it. It is a beach rental that definitely has been well used. The white carpets were significantly stained. However, if you are looking for a large house that will accommodate your group and you want to be close to the beach, this is a great option.

Great house layout and location

The location of the property is perfect. Even though it’s on a busy street, there is a cross walk right at the corner that made crossing over to the beach easy. The size and the layout is amazing and provided plenty of room for our two families of 4. The property is in need of some deep cleaning and maintenance. The carpets had stains that would not have been removed by regular cleaning, as well as some cushions inside and outside were stained or worn. The beds were comfortable and the bedding seemed clean and new. The house doesn’t have cable so be prepared to stream your own apps, this was initially confusing but the management team was responsive to our requests for support. We had an issue with the GFI outlets in the bathrooms on the last evening, but management seemed on it. I hope the owners consider putting some money towards deep cleaning or replacing the light colored carpets. However, we were able to overlook these things because the size, layout and location were so great. I would have given the propery 5 stars with these changes.

House doesn’t look like the “ads”

Nice layout. Good location Outdoor space very disappointing. Dirty floors and stained furniture. Outdoor space was mildewed and rusty. Tripping hazards Bathroom grouting ugly and grungy. No full length mirrors No use of almost all amenities for guests That’s down to the stove top griddle we weren’t allowed to use. Once was a lovely place. Not so today.

Perfect location on the Balboa Peninsula. Walking distance to everything. House was laid out perfectly for a large family with room to spread out. Would definitely stay here again.

Big Beach House

This house was perfect for 4 couples. Great spaces to relax such as living room, kitchen, or roof deck. It fit 4 couples perfectly and is in a great location for newport activities.

Could have been smoother

VACASA, did everything possible to gather my personal information through the process and has since been marketing to me directly. It felt like their priority was to get my information above ensuring we had a good trip at their property. The identify verification process was unnecessary and painful. As for the property it was ok but could have been cleaned better. There were shoe prints and markings all over the walls and ceiling on the main floor. I sent them pictures after check in because I was afraid of getting billed extra for the damage. The garage wasn't big enough for my vehicle so parking was a challenge. There was a fight outside the house on our first night and the police were there from 2-4AM which made it hard to get any sleep. This was obviously out of the property owners control but might a result of being directly on Balboa.

Amazing property SHAMELESS neighbor

This beach house is simply amazing. I must say the pictures do not do it justice, the place has been completely renovated! Check-in is at 4pm, we got notified the house was ready for check in @noon. Everything was perfect, besides the drunk neighbor who would stand on his balcony screaming/yelling cursing at anyone who walks by as well as other residents sitting on their balconies/roof-tops enjoying the views. Come dinner time we had the pleasure of hearing the drunk neighbor couple fight/argue with each other for hours on end. Approximately, 2am the police were called. The officers parked right in-front of the rental & left their red/blue lights flashing, illuminating the windows in the front room & master bedroom. Then again the 2nd night the same thing cops arrived at 2:30am, left at 4:20am and this happened all 4 nights of our stay. So, besides that everything else was great. The top level of the house has a huge couch that can comfortably be used for sleeping. There are a few minor things like only 2 of the 5 burners work on the BBQ grill. The fountain on the roof top deck doesn’t work, we couldn’t connect to thr blue tooth speaker system on the roof top, the dishwasher flooded when we used it, so we hand washed dishes. There is very little pots/pans so bring your own, same with towels, or you can wash them daily.

great house

the house is excellent and very impressive. we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and only had a few minor issues. we couldn't access the house from the front door as the code was incorrect. luckily we could access the house through the garage. the contact number didn't appear to work from our UK phones so we had to get a friend to call. they came the next day to sort it out. a few minor cosmetic things that need looking at. appears some of the property hasn't been looked after by some of the previous guests and final touches need looking at. also there was no manual to show us how things worked (and there's lots of gadgets) would of been nice to have a welcome folder with local guide etc. the ring system constantly makes a noise when there's movement as is located in one of the bedrooms so kept that person up when it went off. there was also roadworks outside the house for 2 days so couldn't make use of the balcony. minor points but when you pay top dollar you expect everything to be 100%. we would stay there again but it wasn't a cheap stay.
