We were very happy right from the start with the accommodation. The apartment block itself is nothing great to look at, but inside it is very relaxing, comfortable and clean. There is an air conditioner but we were happy with the coolness the overhead fans provided. The owner had set up an air mattress in the lounge room and this was very comfortable as a second bed, unlike the sofa beds that one often comes across in other accommodation. The area generally was very quiet in terms of noise in the evening, with the pub just up the road posing no problems at all. It was a nice surpise to find a six-pack of Stella Artois in the refrigerator, compliments of the owner. The accommodation was well stocked with cooking implements (again, this is not always the case with other accommodation) and the stovetop (induction), oven and microwave all modern and functional (and instruction manuals in one of the drawers in case of problems - I am not used to an induction cooker but found out quickly via my phone that Lo stands for Locked, not Low!). We often walked to the beach - Dixon Park Beach probably the closest (a good twenty-minute walk), and Bar Beach possibly the next closest (a little more) - but both no more than a five-minute drive away and very easy to park near the beach. The Junction Shopping Centre is also very close with a good range of shops, including Coles. The only down side - and nothing very serious - was that previous holiday makers had left some food in the fridge, probably OK with things like vinegar but not quite so appealing with regards to open jars of jam, vegemite etc. We certainly would stay again for all the reasons mentioned above, not to mention that Darby Street with all it has to offer is quite close. And Catherine was quick to answer inquiries and very helfpul.
