I couldn’t have been happier with my stay at Turkey Hill Inn. Beyond it being less than ten minutes from both of my main destinations, it really is just a walk down the street to be in downtown Summit, so I took walks into town every night despite the chilly time of year. It’s an absolutely magical area. I loved the feeling of the hotel, much more homey than a standard one. I visit the area at least once every year and this will be my go-to place from now on.

The bed was uncomfortable. The memory foam (or what seemed to me to be memory foam) mattress topper had lost its memory, making for a very lumpy night’s sleep! Otherwise, the room, etc. was very nice.

Quick response to calls for questions. Maid promptly provide us an extra key. Safe neighborhood A vintage house well preserved outside and in guests units with upgraded bathroom fixtures, beds, and kitchen appliances in our unit. One comment: bathroom sink faucet knob requires adjustment. It’s difficult to adjust water temperature.

We were attending a marriage celebration in downtown Summit. The Turkey Hill Inn was THE perfect location to stay. Summit is a cute and vibrant downtown area with many shops and restaurants, but no parking available on a busy Saturday night. The Turkey Hill Inn is a very easy 5 minute walk into town. Arrival was very easy, we were pre-checked in so we just needed to locate the envelope with our key and go straight to the room. We were notified in advance of the secure door code to enter. Maria from the Inn called the morning of arrival to remind us of the easy check-in process, and let us know to call if we needed anything. Our room was upstairs in the turret. It was very spacious and comfortable, nice big windows, and clean. We would definitely stay again if we find ourselves back in Summit!

It is an old charming house with a nice lobby, lovely large wooden furniture, and plaster ceilings. No front desk or staff on-site, you receive a code to enter the building yourself. I was in a large suite on the first floor. There were portable heaters in the living area and the bedroom, giving the impression that I may need to use them to stay warm if I got cold. There were battery-powered lamps throughout the building, giving the impression they might lose power. There was no thermostat/temperature control in the room, which made for a hellish night. The radiators and heating vents blasted hot air all night with no way to stop it, it was around 90 degrees through the night, I could hear the boiler constantly working, it was too hot to sleep. No staff on-site, so nobody to help. As far as amenities, two bottles of water were provided, as was shampoo and soap. The towels were very nice. No hair conditioner and no lotion. The toilet was challenging to flush, the water from the bathroom sink tasted bad. The refrigerator in the living area was very noisy. The town of Summit was adorable, easy to walk to from the building. Quiet area of town. A parking lot across the street had lights on all night, that could be seen through the window shades. Checkout was as easy as dropping the room key into a box. This place could use some serious updates, most importantly temperature control in the rooms.

The outdoor temperature in NJ has be fluctuating so much lately. We do want to clarify one thing; we absolutely do have staff on site. We only wish you had telephoned the hotel and we would have easily rectified your room's temperature immediately. We did receive your email sent in the later evening, but unfortunately didn't see it until the following day, as it was sent to the junk folder.Again, sorry for your room being too warm, we understand how frustrating that can be. Cozy and comfortable
Adorable Inn. Very cozy. My room was great. Very clean and comfortable. My only issue.. the blinds can not be shut allowing light into the room all night which does not allow me to sleep well. Also the hallway light is on all night and also creeps under the door into the room.

I hate to give this property such a low rating because Maria (the contact person) and the maintenance person Maria were so nice and accommodating to us when we made our reservations late in December. And I love the quaintness of the living room area downstairs as well as the cost per night and vintageness of the place. It’s also very close to the train station and downtown summit which is a very cute town with good restaurants and stores. However, the atmosphere of the Inn is very drab. The room decor and linens / comforters still feel like they’re from the 1800s. The ceilings look like there’s an issue with the roof. The room was either too hot or too cold with no way to adjust the temperature. I understand the house is old but there are ways to do upgrades and still make it all look vintage. Towels racks hanging off the wall, bathtub having trouble with the water going down, have to hold the toilet down for the water to flush fully, very creaky floors all over, patches on walls that haven’t fully been repaired. No one is in the lobby ; it’s pretty much show up and you feel like you’re alone in the house with some people walking around. In other words, it did not feel homely like other older inns I’ve stayed at like The Debary Inn in Summit or Spring Lake Inn in Spring Lake.

Refrigerator still had food. TV was really small so as an older couple there was no way to watch from bed. Rooms need work, especially the bathroom. Now that all sounds negative but it is a cute place that needs a lot of upgrading.

The stay was surprisingly pleasant. I did not know what kind of property it was when I booked. So, I consider it an early Christmas gift from Santa. It would give you a feeling of your own old house home - with a hot water pipe heating system, except there is no kitchen. In the lovely downstairs sitting room, a piano is playing by itself - Chopin's Impromptu Fantasie. The charming town was decorated with lights and garlands on the evening of my arrival. The next day, the temperature was balmy - nearly 50 degrees F. Children were released from their schools when I walked around the town enjoying nice residential houses and church buildings. They were walking home in small groups without adults accompanying them: A scene I have not seen for such a long time.

I love the location, I can not comment on many other matters as due to personal emergency, I did not have the full experience of the place. What I did notice is duality of Parking area: deep put holes that show failure to maintain the property in its pristine condition. Otherwise, I like attention and concerns to my needs from "remote" staff". I would definitely choose this place for my next requirement, and I will comment accordingly. Greg
