The safety and condition of unit 2D at Oceanside Village is below standard. Air is moldy & smells musty-mostly from the circa 1982 carpeting that’s everywhere.
Unable to open windows, doors to 1st fl patio & 2nd fl deck-all are old and broken. Maintenance recommended a window/door company to repair, then told us owner couldn’t afford & not to use doors-too dangerous.
There are 4 floors, bedrooms are located on 3 and 4 but the ONLY smoke detector is on level 4. A fire in one of the lower levels would easily trap someone-only operable exit to outside is the front door down on 1.
Beds and pillows are old & flat.
Pool looks nice but has no heater! Big disappointment!
Texts, pics and calls to Mngmt with multiple health concerns. Told no properties at our price. We offered to pay xtra for available property they had listed. Told we’re stuck-they don’t move tenants. They twice offered to deodorize-but never did. Was told it was Ava’s property, but never heard from her.
Outside has a large multi-use grassy area with chairs overlooking the ocean, but the entire length has an edge that drops 25 ft! No fence, lights, barrier or signage warning of 25ft drop! Kids, pets or anyone could just step off edge-especially when dark out.
The view is great-but you can’t access the deck or patio because doors don’t work. Smell is awful and can’t air out.
Communication slow or no response. Great Ocean Condo’s website provides no contact info. Tried texting post rental-no response.
