“Do your homework.” Those were the words the owner wrote when questioned about the fee for “additional guests”. He was right. Had I read all the information included in his policy, I would have realized that although the house has 4 bedrooms and is promoted as a home that sleeps 8, pricing is for 5 guests. I did pay for 3 additional guests. I would have noted that there are cameras at every entry and should the owner observe guest(s) entering the home this was cause for immediate eviction. What I would not have gleaned from his policy was the central air conditioning was not working in the upstairs bedrooms. The floor units installed were noisy and disrupted our sleep. I would not have learned that the basement “kitchenette” didn’t have an operating sink or refrigerator. In addition, the basement where the fourth bedroom was located was damp and musty. We were not prepared for the dead rodent that greeted our guests outside the bedroom. The owner was apologetic for the shortcomings and misrepresentations of his property. He contacted me after our departure to commend us for leaving the property in good condition and following all his rules. In fact, as “compensation” he offered to send money. However, this offer was quickly rescinded when we would not agree to refraining from posting a review on VRBO. My advice, save yourself some aggravation and find another property to rent!

Our second stay at this very lovely home, and hope to be back again. Three couples rented the house, and we all had privacy and enjoyed the many communal spaces. The house is stocked with everything needed, and the property and location are spectacular. The owner is very communicative, and strived to make our stay special. I highly recommend this home for a wonderful getaway!

We had a fantastic stay at this VRBO! The house was clean, comfortable, and had everything we needed. The pool was absolutely amazing—perfect for relaxing and enjoying the beautiful surroundings. The property itself was peaceful and private, tucked far enough out of town to feel like a getaway, but still close enough to grab anything we needed. The host was excellent—very responsive and a great communicator throughout our stay. Highly recommend!

Perfect Weekend Getaway!

My friends and I recently enjoyed a long weekend at this gorgeous property and we couldn’t have had a better time - the house was clean and spacious and the grounds were truly spectacular! Being frequent Minnewaska/New Paltz visitors, having the views of the Gunks from every west-facing window in the house (and backyard) was extra special for our group. The pool and fire pit were also fantastic and enjoyed by all (we really appreciated that the fire pit was all set up for us to use - thanks, Peter!) On top of that, the gardens were stunning, immaculately maintained, and full of beautiful butterflies and other fun insects (note to fellow photography fans: bring a good camera!)

Great Property

Lovely home

The house is beautifully furnished, the kitchen is a cook’s delight , the vista of the mountains is a delight to the eye, the pool in the summer yielded hours of fun for the family. The owner provides specific house information and instructions and is willing to answer any questions. We had a lovely 4 night stay.

Setting Expectations

The setting is stunning. The back gardens and pool are gorgeous; bright lights outside at night. It was clean but if you are there more than 1-2 days, there will be bird kaka chores. Be wary if you really need to unplug and relax; this host is uncomfortable renting and you can feel it. You are not welcome to invite even 1 person over for any reason and the security is aplenty.

Wonderful weekend getaway

My family and I spent a long weekend at this home and we truly enjoyed it. The location was great, nice and private with a wonderful yard with the swimming pool, jacuzzi, deck areas and view of the mountains. The accommodations were spacious, modern, and very clean. The owner was responsive and easy to work with. Only very minor issue was that the dressers on the bedroom were filled with clothes and is wasn't much room to put things, but as a said, very minor. We'd love to return!

Minnewaska State Park Hiking Trip

House is situated in quieter neighborhood and everything is within 15-20mins of drive from the house, including getting lovely morning bagels from New Paltz bakery. Only exception was Robibero Winery which is only few mins drive or even within walking distance. Peter was constantly in touch and very helpful during the stay. He was quick to answer our questions and resolve any situations promptly. House was comfortable for our group and trip. We will certainly keep this house on our list for future visits to the area. There are sufficient things to do with pool, spa, patio, games within the house and we only got thru some of the them as our primary focus was hiking.

Paradise Close to Home

This property is completely perfect!! Incredible views of the mountains, lovely landscaped grounds with butterflies and tiny birds lighting on every flower filled bush, huge refreshing pool and relaxing jacuzzi, wraparound porch to sit and contemplate. Exactly what we were looking for…an escape from the city but still close to home. Peter, the owner, is a most gracious host. Wholeheartedly recommend!!

Great Getaway!

We had a great time at this property. The house was spacious and comfortable and was perfect for our group. The view was beautiful and the location was perfect and close to wineries and New Paltz - but we honestly didn’t want to leave the house much- we enjoyed just sitting and relaxing there! The pool was great and perfect for our group. Peter was great at communicating leading up to and during our stay. We had a great time and my friends already want to go back! Thank you!

Great Vacation House

What a beautiful location and home! We felt like we were at a resort where there was something for everyone of all ages. We loved all the amenities including the pool, hot tub, fire pit, and porch that wrapped around most of the house. The upper three bedrooms were especially comfortable as was the great room next to a very well-stocked kitchen. While there were lots of rules and security cameras that came with the house, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

Great stay in winter

This house was perfect for our family of five plus two significant others! We had plenty of space and were able to cook every meal in the big kitchen and have fires in the fireplace. We bought/rented micro spikes to put on our hiking shoes so that we could manage the icy trails. Great exercise and beautiful views. The house feels very private in a peaceful, nice neighborhood with gorgeous views. You are only 5-10 minutes from lots of trailheads. Peter was responsive and easy to communicate with. Great vacation in all ways!

Beautiful Home in the Gunks

We had such a wonderful stay at this beautiful home. It is a short (~5 mins) drive to Mohonk Reserve and we spent most days hiking and exploring there. It is about 10-15 mins from downtown New Paltz where you can find great restaurants and shops. The house is exceptionally clean and well appointed, with amazing views of the Gunks. They have a beautiful wrap-around porch and I am about that porch life. We had a blast. Thanks Peter and Yelena!
