Great location with easy access to beach and great view from the house. Close to downtown New Buffalo and Michigan City. Unfortunately, there was an excessive amount of fruit flies from the time we arrived.

What a stay

I was diagnosed in March with Lung Cancer. My family and some friends wanted to get away and just spend 4 or 5 days enjoying each other and not have to worry about anything stopping that. Staying at Nothing Dune really made that happen. It is a beautiful home that has absolutely anything you may need to enjoy a week or month away. The home has such beautiful views no matter what room you are in. The master suites is basically a private section of the home that you cannot only sleep in but also entertain in it with the size it is. Vacasa was immediate on any questions or follow ups. They also come with a 5 star rating. I started out talking about my cancer at the beginning of this comment but I can tell you the whole time we stayed in the home not once did cancer become a conversation or topic because of the enjoyable time we had when we were there. So that I will always be appreciative of how nice the home is taking all cares away.

Outstanding Lake House

Cozy yet spacious home with spectacular view. Love the open floor plan and large dining table for family dinners. Kitchen is well equipped but pantry space is limited. The large grass area in the yard is awesome. Hope to visit again in cooler weather to use the fire pit.

New Buffalo

We loved New Buffalo and the location of the property on the water. however it seems dirtier once we did a further inspection. The living room furniture was particularly dirty, not a good idea to have a white sofa in the main room. Then we found one of the mattresses to be very dirty with what looked like blood stains on it. I took a picture. over all we were disappointed in the house. The outside furniture was a mess as well.

Perfect family home

You just can't beat the location of being on the beach! Plenty of room for our large extended family, the layout was perfect. The kitchen island & peninsula were more than adequate! There were many bird feeders and the kids really enjoyed seeing that right outside the windows. Close drive to town. Everyone enjoyed the home and especially the sunsets!

Great House and Great Views

Great cleaning crew for the inside of this house, it was immaculate. Kitchen is nicely laid out and well stocked with everything we needed for cooking and cleaning up. Only thing we missed having was a serving tray. Firepit area is wonderful with very nice furniture. Sonos sound system in the house was enjoyed by all. Having direct beach access was amazing. Absolutely stunning views and sunsets. Nice lawn for games. Gas grill was clean and worked great, didn’t have to worry about propane running out. --- Another review mentioned gardens need attention. Yes, they do, especially when you see the neighboring properties. Broken furniture and an old hot tub cover on the deck didn’t help. --- Would have rated property 5 stars, but we had an issue with the hot tub. We chose this lakefront property over others because it had a hot tub, but when we opened the cover on the day of our arrival it was filthy. After 3 phone calls over two days and additional online messages to Vacasa and VRBO, it was cleaned on the 2nd afternoon of our 4 days there. The availability calendar for the house showed it was not rented for several days prior to our arrival so it was unfortunate that it was not cleaned beforehand, especially since the rental agreement included an extra hot tub fee.

Our New Favorite Escape!

We’ve been renting home in SW Michigan for 15 years. Never really had a bad place, but after staying at Nothin’ Dune we have found our new favorite place and are already plotting our return for next year with the kids. The home is so thoughtfully setup and appointed. It’s modest in some ways, maybe under-stated is the better word. But it has plenty of room for everyone and has every amenity you could ask for in a rental home. But its the yard, beach access, and location to town that really make this home the best. Look forward to our return.

Perfect lake house

Yellow Birch Inn was an amazing stay for our extended family. Christl has thought of everything that you would need for vacation fun. The kitchen has place settings for at least 20 people. The house is beautifully decorated with a bath for each bedroom. Outside the gazebo and the fire pit were great gathering places. There are 2 paddle boards, a lily pad, kayak, inflatables and more. Christl was quick to respond to any inquiry. We are happy to recommended Yellow Birch Inn

It was a very beautiful property. And a beautiful view. However we felt we pay too much for the week

For the price we paid - The front yard and landscaping could use some attention. There were some light stains on the large white couch. And the carpeting had holes in it. The front doormat look like they have been there for 10 years.

Amazing View!

Beautiful house but the best thing is the stunning view of Lake Michigan. The yard is a great place to hangout but we spent most of our time in the hot tub. There are quite a few stairs down to the beach but it was worth it. We were interrupted a few times (hot tub maintenance, yard maintenance, etc) and we would have appreciated a heads up but other than that it was perfect. This is a great place for a getaway with family and friends and we hope to get back some day.

A peaceful retreat

Once we opened the front door, the stunning view of Lake Michigan greeted us. The house was very homey, private, comfortable, and more than adequate for our extended family of 10. The hot tub was thoroughly enjoyed. There’s a direct access to the private beach via a flight of stairs. Overall, it was a quiet, relaxing and memorable stay.
