This is an excellent place to stay if you want to enjoy a beautiful view and some peace and quiet. The two bedroom layout is great and it is furnished nicely. Even though it was chilly when we were there, we still enjoyed the nice deck area although it took us a bit to find the outside light switch. There is a very nice nature center right next door that has rugged, but nice trails. I walked it every day we were there. I gave this a 4 rating because the front door is very difficult to get into unless you know how. I skinned my finger the first time until I knew how to open it. You must pull it hard toward you to release the pressure on the lock, input the code and it will open. Jiggling it doesn't help. The window in the king bedroom allows the moon and the motion light to interrupt your sleep as there is not a shade there to keep the light out. Overall, I would highly recommend this site and would easily give it a five if those two things were improved. The view and quiet well overweight the rest.

For the most part, everything was as expected: the place is dated but clean, and the views are nice. The park next door was also a plus. However, some household items, such as linens (washcloths), hangers, trash bags were under provisioned. Plus, some maintenance is needed, for example, most of the outdoor light bulbs were out. These are the reasons it was not "excellent".

Great little getaway

We utilized this little getaway to unplug from our busy lives. The remoteness of the place paired with wonderful views of the hill country made it an ideal spot. The owner was very responsive and supportive of us getting checked in and out of the property.

Great view!

The view from the deck is spectacular and definitely the selling point for the house. We enjoyed sitting out there in the mornings and evenings enjoying the peaceful view. The house is right next to hiking trails, which we enjoyed while there. The location was perfect for us to explore the surrounding towns in the beautiful hill country.

The photos don't do it justice!

This home is lovely, spotless and peaceful and the photos simply don't do it justice! The back deck has both covered and uncovered areas for views that are stunning and so private! The bed was comfy, the ac cool and the home extremely clean! We can't wait to return, this will def be our Hill Country go to from now on because not only is the home perfect but the location was great to explore Hill Country without having to "hotel hop." Also the parking is right outside the door which made for easy packing and unpacking. The kitchen has new appliances and everything we needed to cook at home when we needed while being close enough to go and enjoy the restaurants in NB, Gruene, Driftwood, Wimberly, Austin, San Antonio

Perfect location for our week

We work remotely one week per month, so we choose properties that look conducive for work and play. This house was great, plenty of room for us to both set up computers, good wi-fi/internet, etc. It also offered beautiful “office” views and plenty of living space. The hiking trail next door provided the perfect afternoon breaks, and the outdoor areas the perfect lunch break spots. Of course, we often find ourselves in areas with fly fishing nearby for the husband. He enjoyed the river several mornings, including one with a guide, Kevin Stubbs, Expedition Outfitters. If that’s your thing, you should check him out! Maybe the best thing about this property is its location in close proximity to SO MANY great locations in Hill Country. We made it to Boerne, New Braunfels, Fredericksburg, and of course, Canyon Lake itself. There’s so much to do in this area. We are already looking forward to our next trip

We were there for our anniversary with my husband and the stay was very nice, the view too and what beautiful sunrises with coffee, the place was very clean and what can I say about the super comfortable bed, I loved the stay there.

Quiet hideaway with amazing view

This listing was perfect for us as a headquarters to explore the Hill Country. It feels remote and private yet is just a bit over a mile to some good eateries and other conveniences. The owners have thought of so many extras that made us feel so comfortable and right at home.

Fly fishing trip

My wife and I stayed here during our fly fishing trip on the Guadalupe. The pictures online do not do this property justice. Sunrise and sunset is breathtaking. A/C and heater are excellent. Spacious, clean, and classic west Texas style. Could use a fire pit outside… We’d definitely stay here again.
