We had a great time staying here. The house is incredible and the views from the back patio were truly one of a kind. The host was very quick to respond to any questions concerns that we had from start to finish. The location is in the more tranquil part of the island where there is much less traffic than other parts of the island. Overall, it's a 5 star house that made our stay a 5 star vacation. Pictures dont do justice to how georgeous this place is. When you arrive there, the host welcomes you with food supplies to get by a couple days (fruits, coockies, eggs, milk, bread, butter, bacon). Just above and beyong what any other Vrbo does. Excellent experience and place was spotless clean.

Villa Bijou in April/May

Villa Bijou was fantastic. The property is better even than the listing shows. Ed was indispensable, he was available for questions and responded so quickly with amazing advice. Already planning to come back to the villa next year!

Absolutely fabulous location & accomodations

We loved the short walk to the beach. The pool was refreshing and nice sized. Close proximity to great restaurants. All the recommendations by the host were SPOT ON.

Christmas in Terres Basses

First of all, the views from the house are just stunning. The owner Lyndy was very good at communtication and answered all of my questions. We walked in and she had a basket full of fruit and yummy treats and some things in the refrigerator. This was so nice as all of the stores were closed because it was Christmas day. Ed checked us in and showed us everything we needed to know about the house. The house was stocked with everything we needed for our stay. Plus is was very clean. Cindy (house keeper) came 2 times during our stay, which was so nice. She also scheduled us a driver for New Years Eve. My family loved the outdoor shower. Also the house is very maintained and clean. We would definitely come back and rent from Lyndy.

A Little Slice of Heaven

The view is outstanding. The house has everything you need for a comfortable relaxing stay. St Martin is a very beach location but the private pool was a plus. You are within a 5 min walk to Baie Rouge Beach. To us... it was one of the nicest beaches on the island. The welcome basket was another plus!!! After a long day of travel the last thing we wanted to do was to have to find a grocery store. It was above and beyond. The location was a perfect balance between the French and Dutch. We felt very safe. Ed was very attentive to anything we needed and all of our island questions. We would definitely return to Lyndy and Charlie's paradise.

Truly a Quiet Gem

The other reviews here are completely accurate - this is a wonderful clean, quiet and safe villa just the right distance from Marigot and all it has to offer. Baie Rouge is one of the best beaches on the island in our experience - the remote location and clear waters are worth it. (And...no jet skiiers!) The fact you can walk there from your villa is one of the best features here. The owner and property manager were a joy to work with - they're very responsive to any questions you have. All the conveniences and appliances are up to date and fully working. The beds are incredibly comfortable! We will definitely be back to SXM and Villa Bijou will be our first choice.

We're so happy we found and chose Bijou!

As so many previous guests wrote, this was the best and most thoughtfully supplied vacation rental we've ever stayed in. We did a lot of cooking and really appreciated the staples & spices already in the cabinets, as well as the welcome basket--the most lavish ever--the fresh pineapple lasted us the whole time! The views were amazing from every angle; we were quite content to just stay there & not leave that tranquil & serene environment. Soft cushy towels, comfortable beds, plenty of storage space. The cottage worked perfectly for the part of our stay when family joined us. The kitchen has plenty of space for 4 adults to prep . Our 3-year-old granddaughter spent hours in the pool improving her swimming skills and has already emphatically informed us she will be returning. Having Cindy the cleaner come twice while we were there to refresh everything was quite a treat. Property manager Ed responded promptly if we had any questions and when a sink pipe clog repair was needed he came by at night and devised a creative solution that got everything working again. How a maintenance team functions normally is one thing, how they respond to an unexpected, (and rare) problem is another, a true test, and we were very impressed. Pool and garden were attended to throughout our stay--very luxurious for us as we are DIY at home. As Americans the 110v power was a major convenience. We're already planning another stay at Bijou and next time for longer than 10 days! Thank you Lyndy!

Great Time at Bijou

This was our second visit to Bijou (first one since the hurricane) and everything was as nice as before. The owner and her onsite staff are very nice and respond quickly. It's in a great location for most of the better beaches on the island. Only minor issue is that the TV is not cable anymore; it's only streaming services so if you need to watch sports or news, you might be out of luck. Two fantastic restaurants to recommend; 1) Be Kool - fantastic French food and pretty reasonable, too. 2) Spices of India - you can't find better Indian cuisine in the US compared to this place. Surprisingly fantastic.

Wonderful

Villa Bijou was just what we needed. Very relaxing and comfortable. Location was perfect for us. I’m a Chef, kitchen was perfect and had everything I need to prepare meals. And a lovely set of sharp knives always makes me a happy camper. The only thing we missed a little was not having cable or satellite at the Villa so we could watch The Masters Tournament, no big deal, it got us away from TV and more pool time…

This is a great property. The view is special. To get up every morning and see this view is special. The property is convenient and Baie Rouge was great while we were there. Perfect base for exploring St Maarten

Excellent property

The house was beautiful. Had everything we needed and more. Especially loved the welcome basket, the extra left over sunscreen and bug spray from other guests and ALL the spices we had to cook with. This place was the best stocked house we have ever rented. Quiet area and view was beautiful. The beach was fantastic as well. We didn't want to leave.

Nice Villa, Nice Location

I agree with most everything stated in the other previous reviews. We traveled all over the island and were pleased with how this villa's location made us feel safe and how it is proximate to Marigot, the airport, Grand Case, several very nice beaches, a variety of restaurants, two mini but well stocked supermarkets, a gas station, and a COVID antigen testing popup site which will provide for only $40 exactly what Americans need to return to the USA. We enjoyed watching the iguanas in the garden, swimming laps in the long pool, dining and reading on the covered patio, and cooking with the nice outdoor gas grill and in the well-stocked kitchen. Cindy the housecleaner was lovely. We fixed Christome the gardener some lunch and enjoyed chatting with him - a nice, gentle man. And house manager Ed and his wife Kate were responsive, friendly, and very helpful with recommendations on beaches and restaurants. Lyndy's restaurant recommendations in her house guide were also super helpful. The nearby road can be loud at times, but it was only a now and then thing and we were generally able to tune it out. We would return.

True gem of the island..

Great place to stay in Baie Rouge area. Amazing views and proximity to the one of the best beaches in Saint Martin. What else can you ask for...? Few more things, I guess....:-) how about accommodating host, responsive property management, attentive cleaning personnel, and of course cozy place to spend your vocation....did I mention you can get it all at the Bijou!

Magnificent Views

We have stayed many times at Bijou and enjoy its Total privacy and spectacular views of the Island . The property Mangers Ed & Kate are very helpful and Cindy the housekeeper is very efficient . The Villa is convenient to shopping , Dining and Nightlife and is very well protected ,w hole still being Quiet and peaceful . We did not use the. Cottage but is very nice and perfect for 2 couples if you want to go with friends as each have their Space to relax 👍🥂🍾

Cozy home, stunning view of mountains and bays

Very functional home, nice kitchen with a lot of tableware. Everything was very clean, so we were cooking every day at home. Amazing view of the mountain and ocean bays from the pool deck. We spent every evening in the pool deck enjoying the stunning view. Very nice, helpful & responsible property management, very easy to contact them via Whatsapp. This location is close to public beaches and shopping. We have recommended this place to all our friends already and planning to be back soon.
