We had a great day skiing and one warmer day with some slushy conditions but no lines and an overall very fun experience. The hot tub and sauna were the perfect for après ski and après hiking relaxation. Turning on the sauna was not intuitive but there was an easy video in the digital guestbook explaining what to do. We cooked a couple epic group meals in the large and well appointed kitchen. Kids loved the bunk room, the foosball table and all the great books. We had a couple minor issues which Liz responded to quickly. The house is beautifully redone and had everything we needed.

Wonderful house up in the trees! Had everything we needed for a quiet anniversary getaway w our pup. Beautiful views, relaxing decks, inviting main floor with a wood burning fireplace, made it a perfect mountain retreat. We had a front row seat to the leaves changing and enjoyed many of the of local vineyards, cideries, & brewpubs just a short drive away. Exactly as described in the listing. Great communication with the hosts. Seamless check in & out. Very clean, comfy beds, and well stocked kitchen! We’d definitely return & highly recommend!

Great home in a lovely community. The full house was so well-equipped and made the stay easy and comfortable. We had two four-person families and had so much space and opportunity to enjoy family meals and good times together - while also giving us each our own space. We will be back!

A few great days with a few last minute changes in out plans

The grandparents had booked this house for 5 night for a family time over Thanksgiving! However , we/ the grandparent / tested positive for Covid last week and we’re not able to go. However, the 4 adults and 5 grands went and a great time being together and were able to do some hiking. Only one eye mask was located. Otherwise it was a pleasant family Time for them! Thank you for sharing your home!

Great Place for a Reunion!

Had the pleasure of staying here for a few days for a yearly reunion amongst old college friends. Loved the nearby lake and hiking trails as well as having any basic amenities needed for various reasons. Thanks so much for letting us stay!

Our 2024 Virginia Family Vacation

This is a wonderful property located inside the Wintergreen Resort. The kitchen is one of it’s best features and is well stocked, which was really appreciated. We did have to completely clean the deck furniture & grill before it was useable but enjoyed starting & ending each day in that peaceful outdoor space. Overall, we were pleased with this property and the owner was responsive to our questions. HOWEVER, I recommend getting VERY specific with your questions regarding the details of resort amenities available to VRBO guests because it may very well impact your vacation plans. I suggest calling the resort ahead of your booking to learn exactly what is available to guests renting through a VRBO vs. renting directly through the resort itself. Some things we experienced > Pools-VRBO guests only have access to 2 of 3 pools AND can only swim AFTER 2:00. A big disappointment. > Lake Monacan-VRBO guests are charged $20 per person, regardless of age so be sure to have plenty of cash on beach day or you won’t get in. Also, paddle boats/boards, water trampoline & inflatable slide are all additional hourly charges. > Fitness Facilities-VRBO guests have NO ACCESS UNLESS you buy costly spa sessions. > Golf-VRBO guests can only play on 1 of 2 courses. Lastly, there were 9 of us with 3 cars and parking was a real challenge. More than 3 cars would have been a serious problem. The driveway and turnaround area is very overgrown so your vehicle may well be impacted while maneuvering exits.

Perfect Getaway

Incredible vacation rental experience from start to finish. Started with excellent, detailed communication from hosts. Home was amply stocked and contained everything we could possibly need and more. Loved the decor, comfort and layout of the home. Fireplace and comfy couch with snuggly blankets and plenty of firewood. Floor plan allowed all 8 of us to be together but house was also big enough to separate if we needed a quiet place to work, etc. Appreciated little touches such as tips about snakes and bears, and champagne left in the fridge for our reunion. It was also wonderful not to have to do too much clean up at the end-no stripping beds or doing laundry! We loved the location and convenience of this property, and all agreed we would stay again. Thank you for a wonderful weekend!

Weekend getaway

The property is beautiful and the hosts are so welcoming! There is plenty of room for guests to hang out together without having to split into different rooms. The only thing is there aren’t curtains in two of the bedrooms so if you aren’t used to the sunrise you will be by the end of your stay. Sleep masks were provided by the host.

Perfect mountain getaway!

I booked this stay to celebrate my partner’s birthday with all of his friends and I cannot express enough how amazing everything was! Liz and Chad were extremely detailed and communicative. They even had a binder with all the necessary information about the house and things in the area. The house is absolutely gorgeous. The pictures from the listing don’t even grasp how beautiful it actually is. We all slept very comfortably and had plenty of space for each person to have a bed. They truly had everything you might have needed for a trip like this. Everyone in our group had an amazing time. I highly recommend this place for any large groups or families!
