The house was great! It was very clean and spacious, and also accessible to older grandparents who use walkers. And the view from the deck is fantastic, particularly with the fall colors. We really enjoyed the activities at Wintergreen, including walking/hiking trails and the riding the chairlift to see fall foliage. We had a great stay!

Amazing friend reunion!

Well stocked fun house! Kind owners, views for days, comfy beds. We enjoyed a fun-filled weekend in the summer, cooked, played games. It was a dream vacay. Please note that there are limitations on resort amenities, but we went to Lake Sherando and had a great time.

Wonderful Ski Lodge

Black Bear Lodge fit our two families very happily. There were ample bathrooms, the beds were very comfortable and the view is lovely. The house was well-maintained and It's a short drive to the slopes.

Great house great views great owners

We have stay at Wintergreen many times, But this is the first time at this house. The owners were very responsive to questions we had and the house was in great shape and a joy to stay in. The views out the back were beautiful and the house inside very comfortable. Everything we could ask for.

Mountain Vacation 2024

The view is the first thing you notice when you walk into the Black Bear Lodge. Amazing!!! We could have stared at that view every minute of the day! We had 11 in our group and it was plenty spacious. The teens really enjoyed having the downstairs all to themselves. All the bedrooms were comfortable and had their own view of the mountains. The kitchen and bathrooms were fully stocked and we were not in any need. The Host was super responsive with answers to our questions. I have nothing but great things to say and would love to have the opportunity to come back again.

Friends reunion weekend

House was perfect for 6 adults/6 young kids. Clean and stocked with kitchen basics. Easy drive to some trails and Wintergreen resort, but further (20-30 mins) to get down to other restaurants, breweries, etc. Great view from the big back porch!

Wonderful Wintergreen Weekend

We had a great time at Black Bear Lodge. Our group consisted of family and friend-family. We loved the decor of the lodge, from the big bear waving hello as we entered the house to the signs reminding us to "Take a Hike" :-) The house was well equipped for cooking meals and we enjoyed both the fire table and the fireplace. Don't get me started on the views. Beautiful! We'd love to come back again.

Black Bear Lodge was the perfect fit for our family. There is lots of space to spread out with bedrooms located on all three floors. Great proximity to the ski slopes.

Time with Family

The house provided a nice place for some of my extended family to gather and spend time with each other. The house was nice. We filled out all the beds so eating at the dinner table was a bit tight but we managed. The kids had a blast playing basketball on the PS4. The house advertised that it was the most handicap accessible; my mom with Parkinson's was not able to shower as there were no bars to assist her in or out of the tub/showers. The bed on the first floor was high for a handicap person. There was a stool she was able to use. The host is good at communicating before, during and after the stay. The house was cleaned well upon our arrival. We were overall happy with the house and our time together was good. Thank you.

Great places for our trip with 4 couples

Great location and perfect for couples. Lots of king or queen beds and a bathroom for each bedroom. Beautiful outdoor space. We were disappointed we couldn’t use any of wintergreen facilities like tennis or pickleball because we didn’t rent through wintergreen but the accommodations and price were worth it!

We spent the week here. The home is beautiful and the view is spectacular. Children and grandchildren all Enjoyed. Communication was excellent. Beautiful home in the mountains

This house was very well appointed for a large group. The adults enjoyed the deck and the kids loved the gaming system downstairs. The owners were easy to communicate with and responded to questions in a timely manner. We’d stay here again for sure!
